Can't afford my fave Chanel at the moment.

What's the best cheap alternative?

rimmel

BedHog · 09/10/2012 10:02

Collection 2000 waterproof mascara. Just as good as the pricey brands. Smile

mamasmissionimpossible · 09/10/2012 10:11

Boots natural collection I have found to be good. Disclaimer: I don't buy pricey brands of mascara, so I don't have that to compare it to.

However they only cost 3 for £5 so it may be worth experimenting to see if you like them.

NiceCupOfTeaAndASitDown · 09/10/2012 10:14

I got lash boosting mascara from primark for £1. It's the best one I've found in ages!

Iatemyskinnyperson · 09/10/2012 10:15

I like Bourjois & Max Factor

AllThreeWays · 09/10/2012 10:36

Bourjois Liner effect

mosschops30 · 09/10/2012 10:38

Is there only one bourjouis mascara? I don't want to buy the wrong one.

Can everyone be more specific than brand, there are often so many Smile

Maybelline falsies is pretty good

RamblingRosa · 09/10/2012 10:40

Maybelline or Max Factor False Lash Effect. Both good and don't irritate eyes. Actually, I'm using an Avon one that I got free with a magazine and it's surprisingly good. I've got v sensitive eyes/contact lenses and I can't get on with most cheapo supermarket brands but Maybelline and Max Factor are both fine.

Scootergrrrl · 09/10/2012 10:41

I would second the Boujois liner effect mascara and it's really cheap on Amazon for some reason.

HyvaPaiva · 09/10/2012 14:02

Maybelline Great Lash is a fantastic basic one for around £4.99. All of the Maybelline Colossal range (I'm loving the smoky eye one at the moment) is fantastic.

shrimponastick · 09/10/2012 14:09

I bought the Aldi Lacura Volume Mascara last week, just to try it. £2.99 - I think.

It seems okay ish. No clumping. Doesn't give hugely voluminous lashes, more natural look. Bit hard to get off too actually.. Hmmmmm.... not selling it am I?

BunnyLebowski · 09/10/2012 14:13

Max Factor 2000 Calorie.

The dog's bollocks of budget mascaras. And believe me I've tried them all.

I even prefer it to the ££ Lancome ones.

TheonlyWayisGerard · 09/10/2012 14:16

Grow luscious by Revlon. In the green tube. Under a tenner and really good.

hattymattie · 09/10/2012 15:04

I'm using Barbara Daly from Tesco - I can't believe how good it is. It's still quite new but no lumps or smudges and my eyelashes look really vampy!

mosschops30 · 09/10/2012 19:42

Thank you all so much, think I'm gonna try the bourjouis one or Barbara daly because I love her primer.
Hopefully I can find one as amazing as my beloved Chanel Smile

Max Factor 2000 Calorie.

MsOnatopp · 09/10/2012 19:45

bare escentuals. Wow. Just wow. Makes my lashes so long (got a free sample so not sure of ££)

mosschops30 · 09/10/2012 19:49

Ooh a couple of votes for max factor now, which would maybe be another choice.
Will have to check out prices

I have the Miss Sporty Curved Brush £1.99. Doesn't rub off, gives decent volume. I bought it on a whim, but it's the best one I've had in ages.

Iatemyskinnyperson · 09/10/2012 20:08

It's the Bourjois Volume Glamour Ultra Care that I like. Really volumising fluttery lashes.

LittlePandaBear · 09/10/2012 20:29

I've just bought the L'Oreal 4D false lash one and it's great, and I'm very fussy about mascara!

mosschops30 · 09/10/2012 21:13

I have just bought the 2000 calorie one as it was only a fiver with free delivery Smile
so it better be good! Wink
