Decent leggings?

Hi. I am a size 12/14, about 5'9 and desperately need some decent leggings which will not bag and sag and will cover my ankles to stop them being chilly! I have several pairs of Next Tall but they bag terribly and the length has shrunk in the wash. I have one pair of Fat Face which are pretty good - not much bag and sag - would like them a little longer If possible, but they are sold out in any case!
Budget £15 ish give or take!!
Need to survive lots of washing and tumble if possible.
Thanks!

I recently bought Sainsbury's Luxury Leggings for £10 and had to take them back and swap for the short (am 5'5") so I expect the standard length would be good on you. They don't bag, are nice and thick, and seem to be washing well so far. They're also nice and long in the waist, so are supremely comfortable.

bishboschone · 07/10/2012 08:58

Marks have some for £7.50 that are thick and have a wide waist band . I bought some the other day although I haven't worn them yet but fingers crossed .

New look. 2 pairs for 16

Jazzicatz · 07/10/2012 14:28

Quite a bit more expensive than you want, but the High Waisted leggings from American Apparel are amazing. I am the size and height as you and they fit perfectly and stay put. They are £24 per pair, but definitely worth it!

LalaDipsey · 07/10/2012 14:52

Ooh they do look good. Does a large fit suit? Why the highwaisted over the normal ones if you don't mind me asking?

You are the same size as me and I always had this problem until I found American Apparell leggings. They are a bit more expensive but are brilliant. They don't sag and they are long enough. They wash really well too. I won't buy them from anywhere else now.

Jazzicatz · 07/10/2012 15:09

Yes I got a large and they fit perfectly. I got the high waisted as I was using them for a dance class and didnt want them falling down. I cannot tell you enough how fab they are, I am tempted to buy some more in different colours!

Tuttutitlookslikerain · 07/10/2012 15:11

NewLook ones are awful IMVHO. I bought some from the 2 pairs for £16 and they went really, really baggy on the first wear. It is not as if they were stretched either, my legs are like matchsticks.

I like H&M, Sainsburys Luxury leggings, or Very.co.uk do Love label leggings that don't bag or shrink when washed.

GoldShip · 07/10/2012 15:27

Mine haven't gone baggy at all, and I need them tight tight!

Might be a different sort. Mine are dead supportive and give the ol' ass a boost

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 07/10/2012 18:18

I bought George @ Asda Modal ones and despite washing them in a net bag , the elastic in the waistband twisted so badly it wouldn't lie flat at all.

Very unimpressed.

vintagewarrior · 07/10/2012 18:19

New look fleece lined leggings are gorgeous, flattering too.
£9.99 & definately don't go baggy.

LalaDipsey · 18/10/2012 21:22

Leggings update - ordered 3 pairs for £57 then had a 15% off first order from American Apparel and they finally arrived (so about £16.10 a pair).
Gutted though as they went baggy at the knees and weren't long enough :(
Have a £10 pair of river island long ones to try now on the recommendation of a student friend of mine! Will let you know how they go.

Boden Roma leggings

Fabulous - more like jeggings but stretchy jersey leggings only tried on but are long ( at least 32 inches) and don't think they'll go baggy

Clure · 18/10/2012 22:33

Primark £4 light control, fantastic. Mine still going strong after 3 years

boodles · 11/11/2012 18:58

Sainsburys luxury ones, they do them in long length and they are veeerrryyy long. I am 5'8 and find the regular length so the long would be fab for you.

polyhymnia · 11/11/2012 19:15

Another vote for Boden Roma - much warmer for this time of year than ordinary leggings.

Jackstini · 12/11/2012 11:15

Frock Me Couture brushed leggings.

Never lose their shape and feel fab on.

They have the look of mega opaque tights rather than cheapie cottony leggings and are soft brushed inside.

I have them in black, grey and navy and all were about a tenner a pair.

Tulipgarden · 14/12/2012 10:21

Can anyone tell me if I can get Frock me Couture leggings online and if so ,where?I am currently wearing a charcoal pair in s/m (perfect fit for me,size 12) and they feel fab. I bought mine for £12 in a small one off shop locally but would love in other colours.

Tulipgarden · 14/12/2012 10:25

Jackstini, do you know if FMC leggings are available online please?

Mrsrudolphduvall · 14/12/2012 10:33

Dd swears by Jack Wills ones.
Very long..she has 33 inch legs.

brighthair · 14/12/2012 20:01

I typed "frock me" into eBay and found a few on there

cutemumof2 · 29/11/2013 09:03

Tulipgarden, a late response but hope this still helps, you can get frock me couture fleece interior leggings in navy, black, mink & denim(blue) from estoremix.com for £12 incl tax & free delivery. They really are amazing I have them in all 4 colours best winter leggings I ever had.
