here

Yes, I read the Fail sometimes every day Blush

I love it, it's something different and she looks amazing in it. I love the 100 foot long veil too, fab.

And her usually-odd-looking fiance looks great too.

I have a feeling this might be controversial one though so share your thoughts folks! Wink

I was a bit "wtf" at aul Annie's headgear- she's usually so chic and stylish, why did she pick a head dress that made her look like she'd had a facelift the day before?

Well, she was always younger than me and I'm 33. So it's not like some celebs. I could name some who were once older than me and are now mysteriously my age or younger...

I clicked on this thread to contrast HV with Middleton family friend.

HV's dress is a monstrosity Shock Money does not buy taste! Less is more.

I must be the only one who is underwhelmed by the Lauren Lauren dress. It's nice but no jaw dropper IMO.

The Middleton family friend's dress is one of the most gorgeous dresses I've ever seen. Stunning. Love how it covers her arms too - not everyone would feel comfortable getting upper arms and shoulders out.

I like Holly's dress. Much nicer than the uniquitous, ivory strapless look.

Less in't always more Wink

My dress was quite frou-frou Grin

WhyTheBigGoldPaws · 02/10/2012 14:06

Those are both lovely Boer but would only suit the tall and slim.

I have to admit to having had the ubiquitous strapless with a big skirt number (was 11 years ago though when they weren't quite so 'everywhere') but in my defence I have nice shoulders and a good cleavage but a less than flat tummy and short stumpy legs so the style actually really flattered me. My tiny friend had a dress like the first one you linked to and looked lovely but one like mine would have made her look like a loo roll holder.

I get a bit sad when I see strapless dresses being slagged off on here yet again . IMO it's better to pick something that suits you regardless of fashions although I appreciate that a lot of brides who wear that style do get it wrong.

I'm not fond of HV's dress but she looks happy and relaxed which is always nice to see :)

minipie · 02/10/2012 14:14

My favourite celeb wedding dress of recnt times is Ivanka Trump's. I think it's vera wang esther this one

ShoppingForCarbsWithClaire · 04/10/2012 11:26

WhyThe - also had had a strapless number. I went out looking for one that wasn't strapless but 99.99999% were!

I think that it is deffo the most flattering shape for us standard British pear-shapes.
