Bags and down coats

Ok, this is a stupid question but wondering.

What type of handbag looks best with the padded down coats. I wear mine come winter but feel daft with my usual shoulder bag as it doesn't look right.

Leather across the body bag . Down coat is a very casual look .

Haha! I have been pondering this as I always wear down coats in winter. Last year I wore mine with pretty much anything and didn't care, but mostly a leather shopper or cross body. Depends on the colour too: my navy coat went well with a leather Jaeger tote in reddish-brown.

I think a lovely leather satchel bag would be most fitting to the style of down coats of any colour, probably worn cross body.

Thanks. The only problem is my coat is a shitty lovely conker brown. I'll have to go on the hunt for a cross body bag in a nice colour.
