To Handkerchief or not?

What is the view on Hankies?

I have always used handkerchiefs. (both my parents do as well)

A colleague today said how unhygienic and horrible they are.

It got me thinking - what is the view of the handkerchief?

I think they're grim, but my brother always uses them, and I think my parents used to. I use tissues.

Yuk. My mum has a special saucepan she uses for boiling up my dad's hankies. Like chaos said, grim.

My dad uses them. I don't think they're really that unhygienic, as long as they're changed often.

I think they're rather elegant, and definitely more eco than paper tissues.

My dh uses them but I would hate to carry round something snotty so I use tissues.
