Mascara recommendations please

I have short stubby straight lashes and my face is shaped so that mascara always smears under my eyes. Even waterproof or so called smear proof. Can anyone recommend a mascara that will stay put and make it look like I actually have lashes? The cheaper the better since I don't have much to spend but I am willing to invest a bit if it will last for a while.

YSL do a good waterproof one. It's a pain to remove but that's what you want!

You can use Lakme mascara..its soothing and waterproof also. Any other brand want anybody to recommend?

I have tried loads but always end up going back to Max Factor. Several of them are quite good and they never seem to look clumpy.

Try Benefit They're Real. I switched to this recently and I'm really impressed. My eyelashes look frigging huge and it curls them nicely too. I haven't had any of that smeariness/flakiness either. It can clump a bit but I use an eyelash comb for that. I'll be buying it again.

If I remember correctly Models Own also do a nice mascara that's a lot cheaper.
