Does anyone do eyeshadow?

I hardly ever do. I have just worked out one of mine is 15 years old. I normally just bung on a bit of eyeliner and mascara, but as it's my sister's wedding next weekend I would like to be a bit more adventurous. What's the secret to lovely eyes? Mine are blue and on the rare occasion I bother, I use boring brown powder shadow but it always ends up, well, powdery. Is cream shadow the way to go? Any particular brands? I wondered about approaching one of the makeup counters but no idea which one to choose!

i like laura mercier sequin eyeshadow for just a wash of colour, african violet is lovely, just gives a lovely sheen that stays put

I swear by benefits 'big beautiful eyes' palette. Comes with an under eye concealer and three shades of brown. Also a v good instruction leaflet.

It's perfect for everyday and can also be adapted for a nighttime smokey eye too!

Blue eyes and I use an Estee Lauder pinkish cream shadow. sounds horrible, but is lovely

Bourgeois do some great colours

Their individual colour pots are good and you can use wet or dry for a more intense finish

The real trick to beautiful eyeshadow (regardless of colour) is using brushes not those horrid plastic applicators that are often included. I usually use 3 complementary colours (I favour blues!) The mid-colour I use as a base on the whole eye and the darker colour is blended around the socket. Then the paleist colour goes along the brow-bone and a dab on the inside corner or each eye. Find some colours you like, some decent brushes (I like Mac) and have a play! Grin
