Bolero, shrug type thing - Help!

blibblibs · 22/09/2012 18:12

I'm hoping someone out there can help. I have a black tie event next week and I have a lovely black dress to wear but need something to cover my shoulders/upper arms.
The one and only time I've worn it I borrowed a glittery, butterfly type bolero thing which was lovely (honest!) but the owner has now moved to the other side of the world so it looks like I will have to find my own.

Not really sure how to describe what I'm after but a bolero type shape but not heavy cardigan type thing. Any lenght sleeve and maybe with a bit of sparkle/glitter - that sounds awful but I'll know what I'm after when I see it - I just cant find it!

I hope someone out there knows what I'm talking about and can help.

TIA

Monsoon ?

RaisinDEtre · 22/09/2012 18:17

M and co do really great boleros for about eighteen quid, not terribly sparkly tho

I think ebay may be your friend in these circs. I had the same dilemma last christmas and managed to get a velvetty one there, they had loads.

Debenhams have bits like that

blibblibs · 22/09/2012 19:41

Something similar to that Germyrabbit but not quite so long and without the tie at the waist.

Have looked at John Lewis, Debenhams, HoF, River Island etc. DP was the closest with a nice pearl type thing but it isn't enough coverage.

Will check out M&Co.

Phase Eight do some lovely shrugs and knitwear, bit pricey but will last for years especially in a neutral colour like gold or silver.

QueenCadbury · 22/09/2012 22:04

Coast? Next? Try shopstyle.co.uk and search for bolero/shrug. Most places will probably do them due to party season coming up.

PerryCombover · 22/09/2012 22:05

this type of thing?

dinkystinky · 22/09/2012 22:17

Hobbs do some lovely ones
