Is it possible to do a home Deep Cleansing Facial without screwing up your skin? And if so, how?!

Is there a way I can get rid of my horrible clogged pores at home without having to go to a salon or is this the kind of thing that has to be done by a professional? Obviously, I'm trying to avoid swollen pores and yucky spots as an outcome but fear I might bring that on myself if I mess around squeezing stuff.

I have limited time/resources/babysitting but have important stuff on this week that I need to look my best for so any tips would be appreciated!

Are you a noob?

Ocm the oil cleansing method, tis spoken of daily upon these pages.

Not sure what a noob is. If newbie, then no.

I use OCM which does help, but it's definitely time for a deep cleanse.

What do you have in mind to do/use?

Be careful with your answer, because I WILL copy you, whatever it is Grin

I'm thinking some sort of steam/extraction combo.

What about the glycolic acid peely thingy? I'm baaaaahing in sheeplike way on th 30% GA 2nd cycle at the moment, and skin definitely more plump and smooth. Look at the sizzle thread on S and B.

Sounds like a good plan! I bought a blackhead extraction thingy (cos of on here) but I haven't been able to get it to work that well. So I cleanse, steam, use a mask, steam, then use those nose and face strips.

I was on the GA bandwagon, however when I did my 4 min peel (after working up to it from 1 min in week one, etc) my face was like sandpaper! It didn't look that bad ( I hope ) but it felt terrible, so as it was coming into the summer that never was I decided to stop as I'm also very pale, was thinking of digging my bottle out and starting again tomorrow.

Other than the scaly face I was quite happy with the initial results. IIRC the salicylic acid peel was being recommended for blocked pores?

Yes, I think it was the SA one. I looked vvvvvv red after the 5 min one (and never did the 6 but rested my face for 3 weeks and have now started again)

The aspirin face mask. Get either dissolvable aspirin or crush ordinary aspirin. Mix with a tiny bit of water and apply to your face (you need quite a few aspirins-6 or more to cover face). Leave on for 5 mins or so and rinse off

Be careful to avoid getting aspirin dust/granules in your eyes!

It will unclog pores, make your face smoother and calm down redness.

And cheap too Smile
