Is White Stuff really expensive IYO?

Went into the store yesterday and bought 1 item, with 20% off, but was a bit shocked at how almost every jumper has a price tag of just under £50.
I would pay that for quality- I buy a lot from The White Company- but with 20% off . Problem with WS though is none of it is high wool content- it's all a mix of cheaper stuff- viscose and nylon usually and bobbles like mad.
Every T shirt is £25 and no better than Uniqlos at £8.

I do quite like WS but I too think its expensive and quality isnt always great. I only tend to buy when they do their 20% or 25% discounts which is fairly often. I returned a vest top this year after only one wash/wear as it stretched and went horrible and baggy round the neck line and was refunded straight away - it had cost £17 which isnt cheap for a vest top!
