what shoes can you wear with leggings other than ballet pumps

i like the leggings dress look but cant' wear ballet pump style shoes as they hurt my feet and boots are too warm for my office.

So what else can you wear that don't look daft?

Sandals?

What shoes do you wear if ballet flats and boots are out?

I wear penny loafers too with leggings.

overmy - i tend to wear birkies in the summer but too cold in the winter and boots when not a work, i have low heal shoes to wear with smarter dresses would just like something to wear with leggings.
