Does anyone make black jeans that don't fade to grey after a couple of washes?

Or is that asking the impossible? If you've got a pair that haven't faded too badly, please tell me where they're from!

I have a pair from New Look, two years old and not a single bit of fade! Amazing right?

Maybe, but they have attracted every single particle of fluff in a ten mile radius within two minutes of putting them on Hmm

I don't think perfect black jeans exist.

TheBirdsTheBirds · 20/09/2012 14:25

Oh, hmm, fluff-attracting jeans would drive me crazy. Impressed that they haven't faded though!

Why am I always seeing people wearing perfect inky black jeans though? Have they only just bought them that morning?

Wash them inside out with Ariel actilift Colour washing liquid capsules - they actually work!

TheBirdsTheBirds · 20/09/2012 14:45

Oh, great tip ByTheWay, thanks.

I have some skinny black ones from next that are at least 2 years old, still nice and black
And I wash everything at 60 degrees!
Shock

New look as well. It's ridiculous. I hate that bloody place but it's the only ones that have stayed black

melliebobs · 20/09/2012 14:47

Got black jeans from new look that are still black!!!

TheBirdsTheBirds · 20/09/2012 14:50

Maybe I'm going to have to venture into New Look for the first time in 10 years then... I don't have high hopes for the fit though, I am guessing they make jeans for people with tiny thighs.

If you have a pair you love the fit and comfort of etc invest In a few packs of black dye and re dye them iv used the dylon brand of dyes a few times for various stuff and they work really well, just a suggestion :)

TheBirdsTheBirds · 20/09/2012 14:55

That's a good idea Missmuffet. I don't have any black jeans atm, but have a grey pair and a light blue pair that I never wear, I could try dying those.

I've got some from Next which I LOVE the fit of, but they have faded quite badly after not that many wears/washes. I have bought some black dye so will be using that on them when I get round to it

scentednappyhag · 20/09/2012 15:18

I definitely do not have slim thighs, and get most of my jeans from New Look Smile they're pretty true to size I've found.

TheBirdsTheBirds · 20/09/2012 15:35

Thanks for the code Mskay!

The ones I buy from Simply Be never tend to fade. I think if you get twill rather than denim the colour lasts longer.

TheBirdsTheBirds · 20/09/2012 16:24

Twill? Simply Be? I don't know either of these things, but will google - thank you!

If you Re washing them in normal washing powder they will fade . Washing powders contain bleach . You need a colour liquid and no tumble drying .
