trousers not jeans - help me!

OK, so I have suddenly realised that I only own 2 pairs of jeans and 1 smart pair of black trousers that I wear when I go into the office (usually work from home).

How many pairs of trousers should I have? I need some nice trousers to wear casually but don't just want jeans. Any suggestions? I am 37 and 5ft 6and a size 10-12 but have no idea what trousers will not make me look frumpy mummy.

Help me oh wise-ones (please)

Patterned trousers are very "in" atm, would they be your [tea]?

Sleepwhenidie · 20/09/2012 12:05

Brew!

hmmm - do you think they make legs (and bums) look bigger than plain?

these for instance?

Or are you thinking of something more plain/classic?

MissPB · 20/09/2012 12:17

wow - they are fab but I think they would make my legs look enormous! Might be worth trying them on though to see how they look. I think I really need plain trews for day to day.

I think they could be quite flattering...those with a nice black sweater and flats would look great.

Maybe go to gap and try on their range of black trousers, see what, if any, suit. Cords are another option?

MissPB · 20/09/2012 12:45

Yes- Gap have loads of trousers - will spend a morning trying on and seeing what suits.
