There are lots of threads on scarves, and I now want to go out and buy some.

Do you mumsnet ladies wear them all day, even in the house, or just when out and about? Confused

Also, do you wear the long scarves or the snood types?

Lastly, how do you tie them if they are the long ones?

Sorry if too many questions, just want to get it right!

Wear them long. There is a fab clip on you tube. Something like 50 ways to tie a scarf. Watch and learn! Lots of eBay. Have a look at celebrity scarves there.

I wear them all ways, long or snood during the day and often wear patterned short/rectangular ones tied in a bow at the side with plain colours instead of jewellery. Have just got this one from Fat Face www.fatface.com/hats-and-scarves/floral-printed-snood/invt/36766/?colour=Purple which is my current favourite for daytime

I wear silk-type scarves in the house as well as outside. Mostly long, or square folded into a triangle. Have just bought a woolly snood type but that's intended for outdoor wear.

Have got some nice ones from Accessorize. Also a local gift shop where the lady has an "eye" ...!

Charity shops surprisingly fruitful for the classic types - but not the trendy ones so much.

I just watched the Youtube "Wendy's Lookbook" scarf tutorial with my mum - bound to be something on there you like!

TK Maxx is a great source for scarves. The variety is excellent and you can pick up brands like Moschino sometimes at really good prices!

Thank you for all your replies.

I will look at "youtube" at how to tie a scarf various ways.

I will get myself down to TK Maxx, should have had a look on Monday, when I was in there, oh well it will mean another shopping trip Grin.

I wear a scarf most days. I really feel the cold, so find even in the summer, They are good for getting a bit of warmth whilst wearing short sleeves.

I have all sorts...long ones, wooly ones, cotton square ones, snood ones.

I think they are great for pulling together an outfit, or adding a bit of colour or pattern to a neutral or boring outfit.
