Anyone wear spanx every day?

I had DS2 four months ago, and I still have 5 lb or so to lose to get to my pre-pregnancy weight. But I had a very saggy, puckered tummy and I know that losing 5 lb will do nothing to get rid of it. All of my pre-pregnancy clothes make my big tummy really obvious.

But thanks to other MNers suggestions, I have discovered Spanx - the ones that go up to your boobs and I LOVE THEM! They flatten out my tummy really well, and my all of my clothes look good again - skirts, leggings etc.

Does anyone else do this?

No, I don't even do it for 'best' I find them very uncomfortable tbh and I'm not sure it is good for your insides to be all squished up like that al the time.

HappyAsEyeAm · 18/09/2012 10:48

I find them really comfortable though. Can wear them all day and I'm in no way desperate to take them off. I'm telling you, I love them ...

i wear the trinny and susannah ones when i go out of the house, have done for 4 years now.

i see them as a cheaper and safer option than a tummy tuckGrin

don't wear them if i am pottering around the house.

Primark do a similar one for £5. I wear them on work days but not weekends unless I'm going somewhere.

LaCerbiatta · 18/09/2012 12:21

I do. Everyday. Don't feel comfortable without them - don't want the world to know I have a muffin top!

Meta4 · 18/09/2012 12:28

Not good for circulation though is it? Plus if I write them everyday I wouldn't feel different on the rare occasions that I go out.

Meta4 · 18/09/2012 12:28

*wore

RichardsBird · 18/09/2012 12:29

Yes, spanx or something similar almost every day. I also find them perfectly comfortable and they do make a big difference to how clothes look when you have a baggy belly but no excess weight.

sugarice · 18/09/2012 12:39

I do wear mine more during the winter when I wear more fitted tops. I have a muffin top and the Spanx are invaluable at streamlining me.

bamboobutton · 18/09/2012 16:28

bad for circulation? squishing guts up? It's elasticated fabric, not a whaleboned wasp-waist corset! Grin

HappyAsEyeAm · 18/09/2012 20:56

Good to know I'm not the only one in my spanx on a daily basis! Now that I've found then, I really see the difference, and its opeened up the possibilities of what I can wear without having to buy new stuff.

I've worn mine all day today, and they haven't been remotely uncomfortable and I haven't felt at all squished. But I have looked a load better than I would have if I'd had my normal undies on!

Ah, this has made me feel better... Grin I felt bad for wearing them to work sometimes if its that dress, or if I have a big presentation to do. And I always wear them when I go out.

Now I'm thinking of buying more...

Actually, I have a practical question. I've got the ones that come up to my bra strap but they don't have a handy little 'slit' (whereas the knee-length ones do). If you're wearing them every day, how do you regularly pee? And do you own loads of pairs, or wear knickers underneath?

RichardsBird · 19/09/2012 06:55

Why on earth feel bad?! In answer to your practical question, if I am wearing high line but not knee length, I just shove them to one side to wee. I own loads of pairs but also prefer to wear knickers, but only with the shorts type ones as the little slit makes my fanjo soreHmm

HappyAsEyeAm · 20/09/2012 20:34

Nelly, I have four pairs. They're on a wash cycle - I always have at least one pair clean!

I wear them to work every day but take off when I get home. I find than v comfy.

NellyBluth · 20/09/2012 20:53

Ah, I am tight, I couldn't spend £120 on support pants (though if I had the money I would...)

Yes, Richards, the little slit is indeed uncomfortable!

tittytittyhanghang · 20/09/2012 21:01

Meeeee, im the same as you but my ds is nearly 2 and i still have to wear them every day. I have the m&s 2 sizes bigger body control, flattens stomach, smooths silhoutte and gives me boobs. I have about 8 of them, so I hardly ever run out lose them all in the dirty washing.
