Woolly knee-socks, um, help!

My SIL bought me some cosy-looking grey knee sox with bobbles on. I had no idea what to do with them and put them in my 'interesting/don't actually fit but I like them' undies drawer.
Now I have gone mad and bought myself a similar pair of purple long socks in a sale.
I still have no idea how I will wear them. I've only seen models in catalogues wearing them as part of the pyjamas/loungewear sections.
Is it skirt and boots territory?
I'm size 16/18 and tend to live in jeans, tbh. Trousers/long skirts and tops at work.

I wear mine when I am wearing my knee high boots with a longer length skirt instead of tights.

So they're totally covered and it's just instead of ankle socks in longer boots? I had been worrying they were supposed to be on show somehow!

Sorry, Rubyrubyruby, that was a tad short of me! What do you wear the overkneesox with?

(I can ask this now as I have checked them and one pair are overtheknee!)

So with over the opaques you see sox then tights then skirt? Like layers but going up the leg?! (gosh I'm just so with it about clothes, non?!)

I've got skinny calves so wear them rumpled to bulk out my calves to fit boots.

I also wear them instead of tights with just below knee dresses and wedges/heels.

And in bed and around the house.

Socks are totally underrated

Am getting excited about trying them out now. It's going to require buying things like tights and maybe even boots, however! And some skirts!!
