Good quality white t-shirt?

Where do you find good quality white t-shirts? Must be:

Cotton
Not see through (this seems to be the most difficult bit)
Not very tight to show lumps and bumps but not loose and reminiscent of 80s band t-shirts!

I have some lovely, soft, non-see through, just-fitted-enough tops in other colours but can't find one in white and it's driving me nuts.

I'm interested in this too. Must have shape, I.e., a waist. It must wash well. Can I reiterate it must be opaque, I don't wish to have to wear a vest under it. No tight crew neck collar. Up to 40 quid, maybe a touch more.

Kaloobear · 16/09/2012 09:16

Oh yes, a slight waist is a definite.

I'd prefer less £, but am willing to pay more if necessary!

I am starting to think the perfect white tshirt is a myth. But just in case what you describe actually does exist, then I'm marking my place.

Anything I try on is either too short in the body or too tight round the muffin top waist. I'd like one that was fitted round the boobs and skimmed nicely, but not shapelessly, over the rest of me. sigh

What about what Lorraine Pascal wears - they look stunning. I had a nice one from The White Company but dont wear it much as me and white arnt friends!

Boden.
Not sure if they do short sleeves in the winter though.

White Stuff has a lovely one in their basic range. It fits nicely on the (big) boobs, is fairly baggy but is shaped so it goes in a bit at the waist and out a bit at the hips so it looks pretty lovely.

The classic: Hanes.

I bought a nice white tshirt from marks and Spencer's of all places. Was going to a hen weekend where we needed to stick a transfer on a tshirt so bought the cheap one (£7) from M&S. It feels good quality, not transparent, scoop neck and is slightly fitted but not too clingy. It also has quite longish arms (almost down to your elbow) which is a winner with me.

Have decided to go back and buy a couple more for work to wear under suits.

Kaloobear · 16/09/2012 14:52

Dona, I think that might be it! I've never even heard of Hanes. Thank you!

Link to M&S one please, Nul? And did you notice if it came in any other good colours? I do like an elbow length sleeve, or wrist length - generally hate short and long ones!

nulgirl · 20/09/2012 22:20

Sorry Remus. Coming back to this really late as have been away this week

Can't do links on my phone but if anyone is still interested then the product code for the M&S tshirt is T411181. Just pop that into the search on the website.
