Peeptoes with black opaques?

Having a wardrobe crisis - going to an outdoor (then indoor) event in cold/sunny/windy/rainy Scotland this afternoon. Weather changes every time I look out of the window and I think we will get all of the above.

Was going to wear bare legs but I think I will freeze - can I wear these black peeptoes with black opaques?

Tights have no hideous toe seams before anyone faints. Too heinous or acceptable?

I wouldn't, it is nearly as bad as wearing tights and sandals imo. Also, if it is rainy you'll get wet toes surely?

Will it be too hot indoors for boots? I have to admit that I have been wearing my boots on and off all year as the weather has been so atrocious.

GobblersKnob · 16/09/2012 08:56

I don't think so, it has been seen on a few bright young things recently, but unless you are pretty young and rather achingly cool, I wouldn't, sorry.

Can you not wear trousers?

tiokiko · 16/09/2012 09:10

I don't think it's going to be full-on rain, just showers on and off. Maybe I'll be lucky and they will come while we're inside

No to boots, none that would look right with this dress.

Also no to trousers, it's quite a formal do and I don't have a trouser/top combo that would be right for today.

Hmm. Will have a look for closed toes or maybe just be cold.

Um, I've totally done it before Blush

In a fashiony yoof way!

But it's a fine line and I'd need to see the rest of the outfit. I think you might need different shoes if it's outdoor Scotland.

Gumps · 16/09/2012 11:04

How about those special skin coloured tights that you can get in m&s that have no toe to wear with peep toed shoes?

Gumps · 16/09/2012 11:06

Sorry just realised this avo. Def no to black tights with peep toe. Suffer for fashions sake!

OrangeHorraceTheGoldenOtter · 16/09/2012 11:30

No, no, no! people like me might laugh when they notice. Nice shoes though Smile

tiokiko · 16/09/2012 19:06

Ooh I don't like the toeless tights - they would make me feel like I was part of a rhythmic gymnastics team or something.

I went with the MN jury and did tights with different shoes I'd forgotten I had. It was chucking it down so I escaped a comedy tights fashion faux pas wet toes disaster - thanks everyone!

Honestly? No, not with those shoes. Far too mumsy.
