Please help me find some winter boots!

Hello clever stylish people! I'm really struggling to find a pair of winter boots I love.

I have a bad knee which means the boots need to be light in terms of their actual weight, and very flat/ comfortable. I like the idea of a pair of brown leather, mid calf biker style boots. Has anyone got any suggestions?

My last pair of boots wore through in the heels after just one winter's wear so ideally I'd like to avoid that. Highest I'd go price wise is probably about £120.

hope this works!

What about these? They look browny/grey but think they have them in dark tan

Dawndonna · 14/09/2012 14:30

I saw
These today.
And bought These for cheap and cheerful tatting around in. The sole looks good for damp weather and the price is good if they're good and not too bad if they're awful!

I really like those clarks ones, reckon i'd have to go and try them on to check they're not heavy. Thanks Mintchoc!

Dawndonna - like those too and fantastic price. I do tend to get very hot feet and am ashamed to admit that i might end up with a slightly smelly fur lining Blush But they'd be fab for outdoors and cold weather!

Am thinking the heel on the clarks ones might even be a teeny bit too high for me and my useless knees....

Have you looked at Fly and Dr. Martens.
I have really dodgy feet (toes break constantly) so have to be careful, I spend a lot of time in my Docs, not necessarily the lace up boots, there are lots of designs. I personally haven't tried Fly, but they look good and I'm thinking about it.

I have these from Clarks and they are amazing. 20% off code on the go just now too

SilverSixpence · 14/09/2012 15:49

washngo · 14/09/2012 16:27

Gillybobs - are those clarks ones quite light weight?

Here are some fly ones i think i like - they are more ankle boot-ish than i wanted though:

Also quite keen on these, so maybe i want something ankle length after all....

I can't find the 20% off code for Clarks anywhere - can anyone suggest where I could find it?

I think the Clarks ones that I linked might be heavyish so perhaps best avoid them. The lightest boots I have ever worn were from North Face, really lovely snow boots - nuptse or something but they were like wearing slippers, so light and soft that I was reluctant to take them off when I got home! Maybe look for that type, think they had down in them, hence the lightness I suppose.

Clarks code is BEYOURS12, valid until 30/9.

Thanks dexter!

Rocket Dog boots are £29.99 TODAY ONLY on eBay - I have two pairs, they last well and are the comfiest shoes I have ever worn. Smile

Like these too. Anyone ever had blowfish boots?

Which type of boot did you have Lexie?

LexieSinclair · 14/09/2012 17:24

Washngo I have the Honeypups in black which are actually £39.99 on eBay and some older biker style boots that I bought 4 years ago and still wear all the time. I'm on my phone so can't link sorry.

TeddyBare · 14/09/2012 17:30

Can you not get your old ones reheeled? It costs about £10.

washngo · 14/09/2012 17:48

I could get them reheeled, but last winter I suffered with a lot of knee problems and it has been suggested that it was not the cold weather but my big heavy boots causing the problem. So I thought the worn heels gave me a good excuse to buy some new ones!

OP posts:
Gillybobs · 14/09/2012 19:23

Washngo I find the clarks ones to be quite light and extremely cosy and comfy

LexieSinclair · 14/09/2012 19:37

Ooh, I have those that mintchocchick linked to as well. I can vouch for their comfiness. Smile
