Work wardrobe: Do you wear your shirt tucked in or out?

Shirt is short sleeved, tailored number from next. Trousers are black pintsripe bootleg. I am wondering if I look scruffy leaving it tucked out - but I don't want to draw attention to my mum tum and wobbly bum.

With trousers I would go with out unless your tum is flat tbh. O find trousers generally a bit cruel to my mum tum! I do tuck in to well fitting skirts though, far more flattering.

Short sleeved shirt?!
Anyway, what about a belt? Belts are good

StuckInTheFensAwayFromHome · 14/09/2012 11:33

Really depends on the cut of the shirt. I have a couple of shirts that are cut short so they tend to untuck anyway and then look messy and crumpled so I now start out straightaway with them untucked.
If its quite long, then I'd keep it tucked in, but perry's idea is good if the shirt and trousers suit a belt - particularly the sort that can be loose on the hips.

MsKayGee · 14/09/2012 11:36

I think tucked in looks smarter and is very slimming, unless it's a particularly short shirt that will become untucked and annoying during the day.

Numberlock · 14/09/2012 11:37

What's wrong with a short sleeved shirt, Perry?

I personally always tuck in a tailored shirt/blouse with trousers or skirts but agree it can be tricky finding a flattering fit in the stomach area.

PerryCombover · 14/09/2012 11:41

I'm an arse over short sleeved shirts.

Terribly judgey judgey over them.

Hopefully · 14/09/2012 12:27

If it's a longer shirt I do that schoolkid thing of having it tucked in with an overhang and when I am at my slimmest I do tucked in properly.

AmberNectarine · 14/09/2012 12:48

I always tuck in for work, as I think it looks better and I have quite a small waist so may as well flaunt my assets and hide my thunder thighs

ceeveebee · 14/09/2012 12:50

I'm with Perry, not a fan of short sleeved shirts. Sleeveless, bracelet or full sleeve ok but not short.
Anyway back to the question, I would tuck in and wear a belt.

Numberlock · 14/09/2012 13:12

What about a cap sleeve, I wear one similar to this to work, have I unwittingly committed a fashion faux pas? Wink

Now I am paranoid about my sleeves too! It's more cap sleeves, actually it's a probably blouse.

I could NEVER go sleeveless in the office, too much potential for armpit hair & BO.

"I'm an arse over short sleeved shirts.

Terribly judgey judgey over them."

Why? Are they a crime against fashion?

Numberlock · 18/09/2012 13:50

Yes, Bun, and Perry is in the Sleeve Police. Wink
