Seeing as having a baby has made me skint I've had to ditch the redken and Paul Mitchell shampoo for the cheapest of the cheap Alberto balsam shampoo and conditioner!

Can anyone rate it?? Haven't used it just yet. Sometimes the cheap stuff is the best...or so I'm hoping!

The shampoo is fab!

Especially the coconut and lychee one. Smells like holidays Smile

Can't rate the conditioner....my birds nest cannot be wrangled with cheapy stuff.

Thanks bunny I'll remember that. I have a bit of a matted mane too so may have to invest in a slightly better conditioner!

I find the coconut & lychee conditioner is brilliant for tangly hair, love the smell too.

I agree that the shampoo is fine but conditioner doesn't do it for me... However, I just got some red pots of intensive Herbal Essences conditioning mask in the pound shop (all the instructions were in Spanish, but basically leave it on for 3-5 mins and rinse) and that makes my hair fabulously soft and get the tangles out really well.

Thanks ladies I won't be such a snob and go for it Grin

I always think u can get away with cheap shampoo but need better conditioner, I use tesco bvaby shampoo and got a loreal elvive mask in a pot from bodycare quite cheap. I didn't like the alberto balsam as it left my roots greasy! I also use green fairy liquid every so often as its gets rid of build up!

I love the Alberto Balsam coconut one and the tea tree as well.

If you have a look in pound shops or places like Home Bargains you can find some big name brands of shampoos, etc.. really cheap.
That is where I get most of our toiletries from.

SugarBatty · 13/09/2012 09:25

Yes to home bargains they usually have aussie stuff cheaper.

If you try the conditioner and it doesn't work for you, use it to shave your legs! You'll smell lovely of coconut after to!

Flosie1989 · 13/09/2012 11:07

Ooh thanks for the tip inneedofbrandy I'll try that next time I shave my legs....which will probably be Christmas....I'm not very good at remembering!

Theirs nothing wrong with cheap stuff so you can use it for goodness sake I have to be honest with you guys I hate it when people are going on about how cheap stuff doesn't work well Alberto balsam worked great for me and my family my hair is so soft and smooth after I have been using it so just because you can get the best things for your hair doesn't mean that the cheap ones that are in the pound shop and they don't work out well they can be used as what you think they don't do 😠
