Help me find an outfit

I have been invited out on the town with the hip young thangs at work and am really looking forward to it. Apart from the clothes. I need serious help.

I used to be a size 12, now more like a dumpy size 16, big boobs, stumpy legs and curly hair that the hairdresser cut too short.

Help! What can I wear that will look nice? I have a beautiful maxi dress from Phase 8 this one that is really flattering, but not sure if that will look out of place? That wouldn't have bothered me even 5 years ago now, but I'm really not confident with my clothes anymore

Prepared to buy a whole new outfit but cheaper the better! Dress me MN!

What body shape are you? Do you have slim or thick waist, what about your ankles, which bits of your body do you like? What colours do you suit?
Do you have shoes or are you looking for those too?

The dress is lovely but not sure it's suitable for a night on the town with young 'uns...

Something shorter or nice jeans and a top could look better? I'll have a look for you...

I looks like it'd be very flattering to a curvier figure, and it's neutral but nice enough to wear out anywhere without feeling over/underdressed.
