Matching accessories

I am going to a wedding in a couple of weeks and will have to recycle an old dress which is gorgeous but I have worn to a number of other weddings recently and wanted to freshen it up.

It is a busy purple and teal dress which I wear with a purple cardigan, teal shoes and a teal bag.

Just thinking of wearing the dress and shoes and just teeming it with a silver shawl and bag?

Any thoughts; should bag/shoes/shawl all be the same colour, will silver work with a teal/purple outfit?

Without seeing it it's hard to say but fuchsia or lime green go with teal/purple so maybe go for another colour entirely to get a different look?
