Doc Martens

I'm thinking of getting some of these what do we all think?

I need a pair of knee high boots that are flat and comfy, I used to get DMs for school and they were super comfy. Have tried these on and (miracle of miracles) they seem to look nice and fit round my chunky calves. They should last as well - I bought a pair from New Look last winter and within about 3 weeks the sole had fallen off on one of them. I think I'd rather spend more and have them last longer.

I also like the biker style but think these would be more versatile. What be the MN verdict? Wink

Love them ! They would be really comfy and look good too . I was looking at the traditional doc martens but my 13 year old said she'd disown me ! Grin

Nice, nice, nice.

Never been a fan of the traditional ones - ankle boots are not my bag at all!

I tried them on in the shop the other day, I'm between sizes so don't know which one to go for. They are a lovely soft leather and not too narrow, but I'm wary as too small can be just as uncomfortable as too big if they don't stretch! I guess I could get the bigger ones and make sure I wear big socks all the time. Just don't know.

Luckily they are fairly wide, unlike the pretty girly shoes they do which I couldn't even get on in the bigger size Sad

They are great, I love DM's.

TK Maxx have the long lace (with a zip on the side) ups very cheap atm, here also in grey and black if you search on the site.

I've got DM long boots, and they are fabulous. After 3 years, I broke the zip on one, and got it replaced for £20 by a saddler and she commented on the quality of the boot

Ooh thanks Gobblers! I am quivering with anticipation at spending money. Bad, bad person Grin

I'm glad the quality seems to be the same. I used to get the bog-standard shoes for school, they lasted really really well (which of course I hated!) and were really comfy for the walk to school. Apparently they have changed the sole now so it's lighter and bendier. We shall see. I tend to be heavy on shoes.
