have never paid more than a tenner for a scarf before but they always itch and look shabby after a winter.

this looks lush www.jigsaw-online.com/classic-coat-scarfjigsaw-clothing/fcp-product/2797

would i be a fool to buy it ? has anyone else got one ?

That scarf is beautiful. If I had the money I'd have one of each.

thriftychic · 12/09/2012 09:44

i dont really have the money either really but i sort of thought that if its the only scarf i buy for a long time it would work out the same and be worth it .

i am thinking that i will save for more expensive stuff but buy less

89 quid??! Blimey! It IS beautiful, esp the damson one. Not sure about the tassels. And texture looks a bit "rough". Hard to say from the pics.

There was one in Hobbs for 55. Cashmere and in a lovely blue...

wonkylegs · 12/09/2012 10:29

I tend to buy lots of the cheap ones so they stay looking nice all winter as each one gets less wear. My ones are still looking fine from last year, only one got ruined in being used to keep a bleeding child warm on the way home from a bike crash in the park! It also means that it doesn't matter if they get lost... As it's expensive I bet I'd lose that one extra quick Blush

It looks really nice but is there not a middle of the road one you could buy say for £40-45

dexter73 · 12/09/2012 10:44

It's a bit boring for me - I like a pattern on a scarf.

Mikyahrose · 12/09/2012 11:01

What about a Pashmina - they're pretty soft and stay looking nice for a while?

i have tons on these

GobblersKnob · 12/09/2012 11:05

I think it is lovely but very expensive, what it you lose it or spill something on it?

TK Maxx is a great source of beautiful, cheap scarves, I recently got a lovely wool silk mix one for £16.99 reduced from £60.00.

loulou56 · 12/09/2012 12:38

I second tk maxx, they always have loads of choice and you'd probably find something similar. Having said that a couple of years ago I bought a cream knitted cashmere scarf from Day Birger and have worn it loads, I alternate with others just for variety, but I don't think it'll ever date and its so warm and soft...

VerityBrulee · 12/09/2012 17:07

cos do beautiful cashmere scarves for around £50/60, they are soft as a cloud and usually come in black, navy, charcoal, etc.

Highly recommended Smile
