I have got dry, fair, 40something skin. Thanks!

I'm not an expert but I really like the Liz Earle tinted moisturiser in the lightest shade.

SpicyPear · 10/09/2012 20:22

I also have dry fair skin and am a big fan of Laura Mercier tinted moisturiser.

UnbridledPositivity · 10/09/2012 20:23

The Bodyshop vitamin e one is quite good (pink tube). Surprisingly good coverage.

regnamechange · 10/09/2012 20:31

Another liz Earle fan! Also Laura mercier is worth a try too Smile

DontmindifIdo · 10/09/2012 20:32

I love Laura Mercier tinted moisturiser.

minipie · 10/09/2012 20:33

I like Dermalogica but I have quite oily skin (am fair and like the Light version)

HoopDePoop · 10/09/2012 20:33

Is Laura mercier pinky or yellowy?

SpicyPear · 10/09/2012 20:47

They do a good range of colours, not just light, medium, dark. I'm pinky but I think they have shades with yellow tones too.

GW297 · 10/09/2012 21:07

I like both Liz Earle and No. 7.

Besom · 11/09/2012 15:49

Thank you! I shall go and investigate these!

How would you know if you needed pinky or yellowy?

Another Laura Mercier fan - also very fond of her primer - it's fab.

Dancergirl · 11/09/2012 16:16

Where can you buy Laura Mercier?

StrawberrytallCAKE · 11/09/2012 16:16

Nars is amazing too!!

Cartoonjane · 11/09/2012 16:39

Bobbi Brown is lovely. I am dry skinned, fair and in my 40s like you and it's great for me.

plus3 · 11/09/2012 17:22

Liz Earle is the nicest I have found. Was unsure whether I was the very pale or pale. Phoned customer services & they sent me samples of all the shades when I ordered the one I thought most likely. they would exchange it if I had got it wrong. V.impressed Smile

regnamechange · 11/09/2012 17:49

Laura mercier is available in Space NK

Mewsical · 11/09/2012 17:50

I loved Liz Earle when I had samples, so bought it. I had never found a fair enough tinted moisturiser with enough coverage but am now wondering whether it gives me really unusually bad skin/spots.

Doing another trial run with the palest colour when my tan dissipates as nothing else comes close to the coverage/texture.

Mewsical · 11/09/2012 17:54

Bobbi Brown says everyone has a yellow tint but I disagree. I always used something with a pink tint...and then I got older.
As you age you tend to need more of a yellow tint.

I was colour matched with the new No 7 machine as cool rose on one cheek and wheat (yellow based) on another. I am now more confused than ever and over 40!!

Dancergirl · 11/09/2012 17:55

Is the Liz Earle one sheer skin tint?

korvonia · 11/09/2012 17:55

I use the No 7 one,and think it is really good.

cornzy · 11/09/2012 17:57

laura mercier nude is fab
I've tried Liz Earle but I find it too sheer

cornzy · 11/09/2012 17:58

the laura mericer sand is more yellowy
nude has pink tones in

tharsheblows · 11/09/2012 18:00

HoopDePoop, I'm yellowy and use Laura Mercier (just to confirm what SpicyPear said...).

cocolepew · 11/09/2012 18:02

The Olay with Max Factor is nice.

tharsheblows · 11/09/2012 18:09

Ah yes, I use LM sand in the summer (I tan extremely easily) and then go to proper foundation (lighter shade of ByTerry Teint Délectation) in the winter.

What do you do in the in between months?
