lightweight foundation

I need a new liquid foundation and want to garner some opinions. I've been using Clinique Even Better, which I find a bit thick, or the Garnier BB Cream. I don't mind the latter, but the light isn't quite light enough for me.

I don't mind dropping some money on it - has anyone tried the new Rimmel one, or the Estee Lauder Double Wear Light, or Estee Lauder Invisible Fluid? I want more of a tinted moisturiser finish, while still giving good coverage.

Any suggestions?

I use Barbara Daly foundation, really light, blends effortlessly and great for paler tones. Was surprised by quality, to be honest. It is also so affordable that a splurge to test it out won't break the bank.

Also, this was the only foundation I have ever used that doesn't 'feel' foundation-y. It doesn't stick in pores either, which many more expensive ones did, for me. Some say it is a little too light, so not great for super coverage. But to my mind it fits your description. I had never worn foundation before so it was a superb way to transition. I never feel like I am wearing any, so this is win win!

Tinted moisturisers made me look like a tangerine.

I like the Invisible fluid by Lauder, it's really nice and goes on like a dream but my all time favourite is Chanel Perfection Lumiere. Just gorgeous!

The Dior Nude and the YSL Touché Éclat foundations are both very light.

If you like Clinique their tinted moisturiser is more like a light foundation - comes in lots of colours too.

Is Barbara Daly from Tesco? I will pick some up next time I pop in and give it a try. Thanks!

I have used all sorts of tinted moisturisers and if applied sparingly I do quite like them, but I need slightly more coverage.

Think I might hit John Lewis and do a beaty counter crawl until I find one I like!

Dr Jaart BB creams. They are available from Boots. I have the lightest coverage one which is gorgeous, but the heavier ones are supposed to be excellent too.

I also like the new Revlon photo finish mousse foundation, it's light, a little bit shimmery and very fresh looking.

Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua - looks like you're not wearing anything.

Have just started to use the new Bobbi Brown lightweight foundation and is super. Also really like their BB cream Smile

A second rec for the Barbara Daly stuff / I have the Face Lift foundation which is a mousse and v light.

Or my new one - Bourjois Healthy Mix serum, v good reviews and smells divine.

This is a lovely, lightweight foundation which is very kind to the skin. Boots No.7

It's been out a while but recently repackaged - which I think is why it doesn't seem to have any reviews.

HoopDePoop · 10/09/2012 20:37

Lots of No7 recommendations popping up on MN S and B at the moment which I find interesting .

MagdalenaAlec · 10/09/2012 20:42

I am not keen on the light foundations (I prefer thick foundations with a powder ish finish - have been using YSL's for ages) but heard that bobbi brown BB cream is really good.

Maat · 10/09/2012 20:43

I swap between Estee Lauder doublewear light and the No.7 - depending on whether I am having a good or bad skin day.

Lancome Teint Miracle

sherbetpips · 10/09/2012 20:48

Bobbi Brown every time!

I use bourjois healthy mix which I love. Have also heard rave reviews about Jemma Kidd light as air foundation and rimmel wake me up foundation.
