Lipstick recommendation

Can anyone recommend a gorgeous lipstick that they love. Been to the Chanel counter ( my usual brand) and several others but just am bamboozled by the choice. Lady behind the counter was lovely but wasn't keen on her choices. Want something natural but that will still make it noticeable that I actually have lipstick on.
Am fair skinned with auburn hair if that helps?

Have a look at Clarins.
They do some beautiful colours for pale skin.

I'm deathly pale & have several colours of this, which are very moisturising

If you like a more lasting one, still don't dry out your lips though, there are some gorgeous colours in this range they do

Ooh I don't like the smell of Clarins' lipstcks (disclaimer: I last had one about 5 years ago) I found the smell off puttong.

OP did the chanel lady try Boy on you?

Try Pinkberry by Estee Lauder.

I like Clinique lipstick

If you like Chanel Coco Rouge and are warm-toned (auburn hair), try # 5 Mademoiselle. It's cool sister shade Satin is my go-to my-lips-but-better tone - instant sophistication and definition but not an overly made up look. They are very good lipsticks.

Rouge d'Armani is amazing quality and most shades pull slightly warm.

Those new ish Chanel ones are so bloody sheer they're a waste of time.
I always ask wgich their best seller is. Gets you an idea of which ones look nicest on most. Then buy a plum shade. ;)

Agree - Coco Rouge Shines are rubbish (if you want sheer, buy one of those Revlon ones for a similar effect at a fraction of the price). But classic non-sheer Coco Rouges are some of the best lipsticks around.

Clinique Lip Butter lipsticks are fab. I love Brandy Apple. Nice neutral pink/brown

converseconvert · 10/09/2012 17:21

Just checked tube correct name is Colour Surge Butter Shine

I always used to swear by MAC, Plink is a lovely natural shade. They have a colour to suit everyone I think.

L'oreal also have some very nice shades and are a bit more purse friendly. Shade S106 and 256 are lovely and natural.

I have auburn hair, but brown eyes. My faves are bobbi brown for 'my lips but better' shades. I always used 'blue raspberry' (terrible name, natural shade) but that's been surpassed by 'nude rose' from the new collection, it's amazing!

If you want lipstick not gloss Calvin Klein 104 first kiss is a deep matt lip colour which looks gorgeous on just like really intense lips

slug · 11/09/2012 15:33
