DM triumphs

I'm looking for new pair of boots for winter to wear with skinny jeans, leggings and occasionally skirts. I was looking at the calf length black biker boots in Evans until I walked in Schuh yesterday and fell in love with the black/grey DM Triumps.

I'm 30, 5ft4 and a size 14/16. I've not worn DMs since my 8 holes I rocked at school when I was 15. Can I realistically pull off the DMs or should I play it safe and stick with the usual biker styles?

Do it!

They are lovely and i think due a comeback.

I asked my DM if she could find the beautiful purple 8 holed ones I had from school ( I am same age as you). sadly they have gone out of the loft so I am stalking some on ebay :)

converseconvert · 09/09/2012 20:40

I just saw the Triumphs and fell in love instantly. Not sure about the ribbons but reviews saying the come with normal laces. Think might need to head back to Schuh when DC at school Smile

I have them in black.... they are amazing.

I keep the ribbons in them, but yes they do come with laces too.
You can get them slightly cheaper than Schuh online, think DP got my off of Amazon somewhere.

Nightwish · 09/09/2012 20:43

Oh and they take pretty much zero wearing in unlike normal DMs because the leather is so soft.

converseconvert · 09/09/2012 20:46

The leather felt really soft. Will have a look online and do some pricing

Ebay Link

This is about £40 cheaper than when I bought mine!

converseconvert · 09/09/2012 20:55

They've sold out my size Sad Searching Amazon and eBay as liking their prices Smile

Colemans workwear do them for only £100.

MrsMeow · 10/09/2012 19:41

I love my triumphs :) I'm a year older and an inch taller than you, and I still wear them! They do come with ribbons and normal laces, I use the normal laces but the ribbons look good as well. FWIW I find the Schuh website second to none, fast delivery and 365 day return policy :)

MrsMeow · 10/09/2012 19:43

at Nightwish, my fellow DM addict!

Nightwish · 11/09/2012 07:35

MrsMeow our recommendations are on the 'Mumsnet Swears By' email today.
Aren't we good! Wink

MrsMeow · 12/09/2012 16:38

Fame at last!! I'd just deleted it without reading it (Blush) so thanks for letting me know!

I think we should have some sort of special prize for advertising DMs actually. I'll have the purple triumphs if you're reading please MNHQ Grin

Nightwish · 12/09/2012 16:46

Oh yeah I wouldn't mind a pair too!
Another set of the black triumphs please, so I can not worry about ruining on pair!

MrsMeow · 12/09/2012 16:54

Haha! Actually, whilst we're ordering, I wouldn't mind a black satchel too!

BigHairyLeggedSpider · 12/09/2012 17:40

I am lusting afterthe purple. I have large calves.... will these fit?

MrsMeow · 12/09/2012 17:59

Spider, the beauty of them is you can wear them laced up tightly or as loose as you like so I don't imagine the size of your calves would make a difference :)

I love the purple. Unfortunately though, my sensible head took over when I bought them and I went for the black!

BigHairyLeggedSpider · 12/09/2012 18:07

God they are lovely.

I am going to ignore my sensible head. Next payday the purple ones are mine.

BigHairyLeggedSpider · 12/09/2012 18:14

Oh my god they come in red

morethanyoubargainfor · 12/09/2012 18:19

I love my triumphs! I have them in purple and I have kept the ribbon laces in and get so many compliments about them! I am 35 and 5'10 and wear them with jeans, dresses, leggings, you name it it all goes!

SueFlaysAgainstTheDaleks · 12/09/2012 18:21

I have a pair with the shearling lining in a dark brown colour. They were bloody fantastic when we had the cold/wet spell last year.

Would love a non-lined pair of black or grey (or red or purple Wink)

Nightwish · 12/09/2012 20:28

Oh my word. The purple ones are B-E-A-utiful!

I hadn't seen them before I just searched.
I need a pair.

MrsMeow · 12/09/2012 20:52

Oh I'm so jealous of you purple boot owners! I've only just bought a pair of DM Jara boots, wonder if I can convince DH that I can't live without another pair of triumphs...

I wish I had three pairs of legs!
