Help! Where to buy dress for wedding at end Sept (I'm a guest) ?

Where do you think I should go to shop for a dress to wear to my best friend from school's wedding which is at the end of September in the north of Scotland (ie def not strappy or summery as may be quite cold). I'm 40 so don't want to look like mutton dressed as lamb but would obv want to make a good effort to be reasonably glam for such a good friend getting married for the first time. I'm 5 '7" size 10/12 and quite like the idea of a slimish dress (but not skin tight - I have had 2 kids and tummy not the same!) above or on the knee length with long or 3/4 sleeves - maybe a dark blue that would go with black shoes. Does anyone have any idea what shops I should look at? I've bought dresses in Coast in the past but wonder if they may be a bit too eveningy (and maybe too young?) given that DH and I going to church and meal then eve party. Any suggestions welcome as I have hardly any time to go to the shops and not much time til the wedding. Thanks

these are lovely and come in loads of colours. I have a strapless dress from there and found the quality and flattering cut excellent.

Thanks very much. These dresses are gorgeous and would definitely be good for the occasion. However, while getting school shoes for DS I walked past Monsoon and spotted a teal dress which I tried on and bought. Never have I been so lucky in avoiding trawling the shops and getting an outfit so fast! The skirt is similar to the dress you suggest but it has capped sleeves (I know I wasn't after that but the lovely colour won me over) and a higher neckline. Will def save the name of your dress web site for future use.
