I must also point out that the mistakes I have noticed so far are a bit basic. Like missing a verb out.

Stropps, as a teacher, I would be embarrassed to send out anything that had mistakes, especially if they are not just obviously typo's.

The content sounds intriguing!

Report
motherinferior · 10/09/2012 19:39

Er...should that ' be in typos? Grin

I personally would object but that might not be a Good Ploy, I will concede. I am the person who pointed out typos/grammar mistakes in the presentations from head teachers trying to attract my custom, you may remember Blush

I am having an awful week and it is only Monday. I am looking forward to Wednesday night in London with some of you Hags (who? MI? BTM?). Grin

I am grammar nazi with the school as well - thankfully the DDs' school tends not to put out anything that isn't perfect, but the primary school in UK was a nightmare - "Children should of bought their PE kit to school on Monday, please remind you're children to bring it in tomorrow if they haven't already done so. We do not have any spare kit's to lent!!" was the best.

I have applied for another job I am not going to get, and put in a slightly non-conformist application, which AB told me was "very brave." Don't care.

MrsS, I would really love to come out for a drink, and will try my best, but it hangs on whether DS is coping with his homework so that I can leave before DH gets in! What time are you planning on meeting?

I am vair cheesed-orf that I will be unable to join you on Wednesday, MrsS. I definitely would if I could and I hope you will be back in the UK for a proper Friday night piss-up soon. Grin I am very much hoping for another chance of a Crepey-meet before Christmas, but am limited to weekends.

Both dh and I are itching to send this big, fat book of poorly chosen and badly put together words back to the aforementioned "educational" establishment with red ink all over it, but I might just settle for quiet word with the head. Although he still hasn't forgiven me for the time 8 years ago when I pointed out (in a rather scathing manner Blush ) that 3 out of the list of 10 spellings on the homework sheet given to dd were spelt incorrectly.

At a school where I used to teach, sometimes after meetings in the evening a couple of us used to scuttle round the school corridors with red marker pens correcting notices put up by the PE dept.

Oh crap, those PE teachers will probably track me down and drop medicine balls on my feet now.

Had a cheerful moment yesterday, all by myself.

You know I told you I was 57? Well, I was reading a Facebook post from my sister and she mentioned that in 12 weeks she'll be 55. So I did some more arithmetic and realised I'm still 56. For another several months.

DH claims he could've told me that, if I'd asked. He said even he is still only 56.

So that's nice, isn't it?

Evening crepeys, don't like to barge in but do you have room for a small largish one?

I posted very early on in the life of your quiche (was bibbitybobbityhat then) and am feeling particularly crepey today as I have been to have a mammogram, you know the one you get for free when you reach a certain age.

Do you still talk about things that help to make you feel less ... less ... well, generally, old?

Damn, I can't make the 12th either, would love to catch up and have a drinkie or three. Although am attempting to lose some weight (have done scary keep fit tonight and now can barely walk) so probably should not drown in white wine just now.

Did some drowning in vodka and cranberry at the weekend - got invited to neighbours' joint 50th party which was v good and we met lots of people who live in our street. There was plenty of reassuring drunkenness so dh and I will fit right in.

Hi all, can't make 12th either, but second Stropps meet up before Christmas. Pub quiz last night. Left with Ds after round 3 (of 10) and dp managed to pull us into 5th place (out of 9) - not bad considering first round was all 'things about the village' like 'who draws eyes on his logs'. As we have only been here five minutes I felt a score of 3 was actually creditable (more than the 1 a group of teens got!)
MrsS I admire your restraint re AB - think I might have responded to the 'brave' comment with 'well that clearly settles the are you a man or are you a mouse debate'
Ds has announced he needs a packed lunch tomorrow - Ahhhhh.
So far no misspelt notices from this school - we had the misspelt spelling list several times Hmm

Hi Mintyy, good to see you here! I have a mammogram on Friday - the letter starts "Now that you have reached the age...." What is that age exactly? I am 48!

Survived my first Monday in 11 yrs at work yesterday - todays the first Tuesday... This means that I am not able to get in any exercise other than walking to work unless I go to the gym at 6.30am or after dinner. Welcome to the real world BTM!

We don't have to worry about misspelt letters from the DC's school - they don't send any out Grin

Hi Mintyy. I'm a returner too Smile.

I'm majorly pissed off today because I've come on again. It's so flaming hit and miss and it's time it was more miss than hit so to speak.

Glad you survived work Tilly but shame about the exercise situation. I get proper grumpy (even more than usual) if I can't run.

I'd get your red pen out Strop. I was perfectly happy to tell point out to our head that one of the beautiful metal signs he'd had made for school was spelt incorrectly.

Hello new crepsters!

Sorry, no can do for tomorrow; with DH in Berlin it's a bit difficult. MrsS, you'll have to drink for all of us; I'm sure you can manage that. Grin

There is a London Meetup later in the month (29th Sept, I think), which BTM, Ruby and I are going to. There will be quite a few, ahem, young people there, but there are always some comfy seats in a quiet corner for the crepeys. Actually, the last one was a good laugh; I got very drunk and fell off my heels at East Croydon station.

So what age do mammagrams kick in? No summons yet; I'm suddenly feeling youthful at 45.

Cointreau - you asked about mammograms. I think you are supposed to have them every 3 years from age 50 to 75, so that doesn't quite explain tilly's summons at a mere 48.

I was sent my appointment back in the summer and I am just shy of my 50th birthday, infact I am 50 on 29th September which is why I am not coming to the big London piss up meet up.

They're doing mammograms from 48 in my area, but on a random basis Hmm. You may get a call-up before 50 but otherwise definitely at 50. Oh joy!
