I'm due to get this done on friday at my dentist its costing £400 but I'm just wondering if anybody else has had it done
I've seen a lot of deals on groupon etc with £99 deal for zoom whitening but just wondering if anybody knows the difference
i don't want to pay 400 if I can get same results else where for 100

Teeth whitening is a rip off, my friends a dental nurse and says what they do is no different then buying and doing it yourself and spending £30. You just have to make sure you get the correct size gum shield and no bleach.

Do you no what she would refinement to do it yourself then? Were to buy it from?

I'm in the process of whitening mine now. At my dentist the Zoom is £195 which is where you are in the chair with UV light, it's instant and that 1 treatment is all you get. I've gone for the gum shield home one which is £295. I had gum shields (trays) made for me and then I go home and pop the bleach in them and sleep in them over night so you can decide for yourself how white you want to go. 10 applications is all that's needed apparently and I'm on the 3rd and can start to see a difference. You get a lot more bleach than you need, I have enough for 20 so can top up any time. Plus once you've got the trays you can just buy the bleach from your dentist to top up which will cost about £50. With Zoom you have to pay the full price to do the whole process again.

The zoom whitening in my dentist's office is £395 too but the tray whitening (which you do at home with products supplied by, & mould fitted to your teeth, by the dentist) is £295.
It's still expensive but it lasts longer.
I've seen deals too, but personally, I don't think I'd risk someone that might not have as much experience or that I don't trust whitening my teeth. They might damage them.
My dentist is Swiss Smile on Brook St in London.

I had mine done 4 years ago, paid around £300 at my dentist for the moulds and gel to use at home. It took daily use for about a month to get the result I wanted and now needs doing again (so has lasted well, good for 3 years before I saw a change).

I have wonky teeth and don't want to go the home whitening route. I want to have it done so that I can feel better about my teeth (if that's possible) while saving to get them (hopefully) straightened.
Pinksummer would you mind saying which dentist costs £195 for Zoom whitening? Please feel free to PM me. I am happy to travel (round here it's approx £400!).

I had my teeth whitened using a Groupon deal, with a reputable company here in the North West - it cost me £45.

I was distinctly unimpressed with the results (although my teeth, when compared to the tooth colour chart, were quite light to begin with anyway) I ended up with about 4 shades difference. If I'd have paid more than £45 I'd have been well pissed off.

I've just bought the Crest Pro Whitening Strips off e-bay to give them a try.

Please do not use over the counter products for tooth whitening. I am a dentist and see loads of people's DIY disasters - burnt gums, irregular sheds of teeth, inconsistent whitening. There is a reason that trading standards have brought out new regulations on thus recently!
