Selling Jewellery

I have a diamond ring i'd like to try to sell, its 0.4ct solitaire set in 18ct white gold. I have no idea how to go about it- has anyone done this before? Whats my best bet? thanks!

I did this recently. You won't get nearly as much as valuation price I'm afraid. You could try ebay but it was a waste of time for me.

I took mine to a local jeweller who had it re-valued at a cost of £15. They then put it for sale in their shop window on my behalf. The valuation was £2700 and I got £1600 for it less the jewellers commission.

Thanks, I'll see about getting it valued. It's about £1400 in the jewellers we bought it in at the moment and i'd be happy to get £700 for it. My local independant jewellers only does trade-in so would need o find somewhere that will sell I guess.
