My brother's problematic town halls...

After several unsuccessful and hysterical shopping trips, I said I'd ask here. He has trouser trouble.
He is rugby-player shaped, v v stocky, and has such massive spuds that everything he wears has to be pleated or they're obscene! And then the pleats make him look fatter than he is, so he ends up just looking very lumpy.
What trousers/jeans should he try? He's got really big legs and a bug bum which need to be accommodated.
Can you advise? And then he can get himself a nice woman, and live happily ever after! 36, v tall, good looking, great with kids, all serious offers considered

"Could you not operate?"

Hahaha.

Hope you're not suggesting OP takes this task on herself.

He needs to choose his accessories carefully.

A well placed pretty brooch, or snazzy scarf will draw the eye away from the problem area

Given the topic, am I the only one who misread "great cook" the first time Blush

ToothGah · 02/09/2012 22:45

You're such a lovely sister and he sounds great too.

DP was being flippant btw. Can recommend Primark's lycra boxer shorts, they are brill, DP swears by them holding everything in place without being restrictive. He's got 20+ pairs, I've struggled to buy them lately but when they do have them in they're £4 a pair-ish. DP is blessed in both the veg and meat dept.

firsttimemama · 02/09/2012 22:49

I did SC

Freshletticiaandslugs · 02/09/2012 23:38

Arf at Sundaegirl !
Are you sure he's not welsh?.........there is a tendency round here I've not been able to help noticing for big bollocks. It's prevalent in the agricultural sector, especially those guys who wear chinos or land agent corduroys and sit with their legs splayed to advertise it
I have one colleague who is a persistent offender. Fawn cotton drill heavyweight chinos and large squashed testicles. One can imagine that they are the sort whose meat rests, nay, nestles on top of the big fat scrotum. Grin

ThePoorMansBeckySharp · 02/09/2012 23:56

Gosh. You must be a very close family.

CaroleService · 03/09/2012 12:51

Kilt?

runmumrun · 03/09/2012 20:44

Echo the kilt, or man-skirt thing? Seriously, go for tailored. Spuds shouldn't be strapped down as they'll bake (you'd like to be an auntie, right?), the only thing is to have them mtm.

runmumrun · 03/09/2012 20:45

the trousers - not the king edwards Grin

SundaeGirl · 04/09/2012 11:40

Mtm?

runmumrun · 04/09/2012 13:34

made-to-measure

kiwidreamer · 04/09/2012 14:11

DH wore GAP easy fit jeans when he was carrying a bit of extra weight and they fitted nicely across the the front and back, he has lost quite a bit of weight and found the 'jewels on display' look isnt as much of a problem now... not saying your DB should lose weight of course just that a stocky shape will highlight that area!

It would be worth investing in a few made to measure items by the sounds, or maybe ask in the 'Big and Tall' type shops if there are any tricks he could learn to accommodate.

What about asking this Q over in the Dadsnet section??

Is his name Buster?

AgentProvocateur · 05/09/2012 18:11

Based on my one experience on a nudist beach in Yugoslavia (which tells you how long ago it was!) the problem will get worse as he grows older. Seriously, some of these older men had huge, low-hanging balls. I know there's some weird fact about ears continuing to grow throughout your life, but I'm sure bollocks do too.

MammyToMany · 05/09/2012 18:51

Single, good with kids and can cook?

Send him my way Grin as long as 3 boys and being pregnant isn't a problem

CaroleService · 05/09/2012 20:02

Nick Nolte allegedly had a nip and tuck to his OO when they started to go South.

BonnyDay · 05/09/2012 21:23

Agree with Gap.

mirry2 · 05/09/2012 21:32

I feel really embarrassed to say it and a dirty old woman to boot but my niece's boyfriend and a humoungous bulge in the town hall area and my eyes are always drawn to it now that I've noticed Blush. I have absolutely no designs on the young man - it would be seriously creepy.
