For anyone who likes to talk about style, nice stuff that they've bought and so on.

Love all the tux jackets in the dior show. Some of those models are proper skinny though - have noticed a real move away from that, back towards very slender iykwim, in recent years, so wasn't expecting it.

Loving the darker florals and prints in zara here and here.

MarshaBrady · 28/09/2012 17:20

There may be a technical glitch with the boots and not sure what to do!

They are very easy to get on, just push in. But actually impossible to get off. Probably harder with a size 7 than a smaller foot.

So I googled to see that people at Saks said the same.

Burberry say that it will get easier as the boot softens, but if I wear them in I won't be able to take them back.

I really love them, but I need to be able to take my own shoes off! Grin. Otherwise I'll be waiting for dh to get home. What to do?

Love that show Dona, the electric fabric is amazing. Those shoes look quite tricky for some.

Hopefully love both of those.

Or I save up for the Hermès jumping boot. Which is lovely indeed.

Marsha that's a hilarious problem. Could you phone the shop and explain and see what they say? Might say you can bring them back if still impossible in a month or so?

shopafrolic · 28/09/2012 17:46

Marsha have you tried one of these?

shopafrolic · 28/09/2012 17:46

or just sleep in them since they are so beautiful? Wink

trixymalixy · 28/09/2012 17:50

Would something like this help Marsha. They are gorgeous boots.

Dona I love the way you describe outfits. Really brings them to life in my mind.

MarshaBrady · 28/09/2012 17:51

I know. Grin

They were a bit cagey in the shop. Saying oh they will soften. But they do seem a bit sales-driven. I'll ring up and see if I can hold them to that and bring back in a month. Should force the truth anyway. Good idea!

I mean they will not budge. And having non-breathable rubber with some mud on stuck to your foot is probably only funny for the first 5 minutes.

And I think everyone who buys them falls in love with them, but has someone handy to do the removal.

Ohh boot jacks! Let me look at these! thanks

Yes to sleeping in good idea Grin

trixymalixy · 28/09/2012 17:53

Cross posted shop. Your offering is far more fitting than mine though Grin.

MarshaBrady · 28/09/2012 18:01

Ok plan of action is to ring.

And try the boot jack.

Thanks Grin

Great minds Trixy

Have started a boots thread (footwear, not the shop) if anyone wants to help in my quest.

Have wrangled an early morning shopping trip tomorrow in the hopes that local Zara will have this blazer in stock and it will be an OK colour on me (depends on how pink the red is, I suspect).

DonaAna · 28/09/2012 21:04

Ring and tweet Marsha!

My luxury shoe tell-all book explained that every salesperson fears returns (which are extremely common) - there goes the commission and money for the rent. So they will try to say ridiculous things to prevent that from happening.

I have the same exact problem with my Aigle riding boots. Although they look great, I don't wear them all that often because have to factor in extra time struggling to get them off. Boot jacks are essential.

Had a lovely run tonight - wore my silver leggings Wink. And met someone from last night's party on the running path Grin.

MarshaBrady · 28/09/2012 21:26

Thanks Dona! I think they were purposely vague and probably know that they are difficult boots. And yes quite sales-y so would say anything like it won't be too bad once I've worn them.

I'll try a boot jack. But they are impossible without a jack (or a dh).

Good work on the running party path!

Great blazer Hopefully. These are similar, but not right. It's says leather but it looks suede-ish distressed something.

Spotted these when looking for yours hopefully, they are rather lovely (not that I'm getting more wedges).

Excellent Marsha!

shopafrolic · 29/09/2012 08:51

Off shopping with DH and DS today to buy my 40th present - iPad! That's assuming DS stays quiet long enough in the Apple store to have a serious conversation with the staff about which model I need! Any recommendations?
Once I manage to get dressed I'll be wearing 7FAM bootcuts, Hobbs black ankle boot with Jigsaw black tee and the new cream blazer.
Hopefully I have posted a few options on your boots thread. I was on a mission first thing but don't think I've cracked it for you.....
Sun is shining here - have good days all.

Hopefully · 29/09/2012 09:01

An in town on my Zara (and tights) quest, but so early that nothing is open yet! So enjoying a peaceful coffee waiting for 9am.

Shop I think my boots quest may be impossible. Am contemplating just buying suede, but it's so irritating buying something that won't last. Maybe time to get a bit more religious about shoe care - boot trees, spraying and suede brushing. this dude suggests that suede can last, and that basically one should be looking after shoes whether they are suede or leather.

DonaAna · 29/09/2012 09:29

Hopefully good luck with suede maintenance! I'm not very good at it - dust is white in Rome, would need to brush shoes every day. Water is the worst enemy though.

Love the late at night shopping action Wink.

Shop I love my iPad. My brother is an IT person and recommended me the new one with the ultra sharp display, but with just an average amount of memory (which I have found sufficient so far). I've had it for about 6 months and love it - but warning, it's addictive. If you want to reduce screen time, don't buy it. However, the touch display takes pinning to a totally different level. And I love using Kindle via iPad - have read a lot of books on it. iPad is like a big iPhone - if you are into touch-screen phones, you'll like it. The downside: I've learned to write on it, but it's never as fast or easy as a conventional laptop, and spelling and editing is often atrocious as cutting and pasting is faffy.

What are you ladies wearing today? One of last days of summer here, giving flipflops and the watermelon Maxmara Weekend dress a last chance.

And reading the very absorbing new book - should start preparing lunch but finding it very difficult to put it down...

DonaAna · 29/09/2012 09:29

Oh and if you are in Zara please give me a report on brocade pants...

DonaAna · 29/09/2012 09:35

Oh and a quick overview of yesterday's Dior collection in NY Times. For purely selfish reasons, I hope high end high street picks up some of the shapes and styles - can't wait to wear them. Wink
