3 weeks without a single chip and no broken nails. I love them! Yes you have to stick with the same nail colour until you get them changed, but I would rather that than chipped horrid nails.

Me too, me too!!

Shellac, mind, but same difference I think. They are fab - pedi only here (I never ever bother with my fingernails; job does not allow)

Yep they are great! Need to go and get them re-done this week, but I was amazed, day after day how no chips would appear and they stayed soooo SHINY! Grin

They do have an effect on the condition of your nails afterwards though - I had a set a while back and they looked great for the entire time but nails were quite brittle afterwards (usually v strong). Lack of oxygen to the nail, I believe.

This is not the nailtips sassytheFirst...this is only the polish...so apparently not damaging in the same way. My nails are horribly weak to begin with. Can be bent in any which direction and are paper thin so this is amazing!

Have had the same problem as Sassy both times I've had Shellac. Absolutely love them while they're done but nails take a good 4 months to recover afterwards :-(

PacificDogwood · 01/09/2012 12:49

I had the same Shellac on my toes for 8 weeks Shock with an infill halfway through to cover where the nails had grown out.
My nails seems fine when I took it off, minimally discoloured, but not flaky or anything.

I might have a break during the winter.

As i understand you can change the colour of the polish by putting regular nail polish on top and then removing with nonacetone remover.

I just had my first shellac last week and love it; but will see how nails are when I remove before I am completely sold.

4goingon14 unfortunate there right, I had the Jessica gels ration on me twice, one colour for two weeks then changed to another colour for 8-9 days. Usually my nails are in great condition, very strong and don't bend but after removing the gel my nails were in crap condition really weak. But I took a break to sort them out and now there great again. Am thinking of getting it done again :) but your nails aren't the same after removing so I'd just steer clear of having it done all the time.
