Sun burnt lips??!

I just got back off holiday and I was out walking quite a bit. It hot and sunny, but windy too. I got the usual sunburn which has turned into a tan now, but my lips were burned beyond belief. Now I'm back they are all scabby and crack when I laugh or open my mouth too much.

Has anyone else had this before? Normal lip balm isn't helping at all tbh and besides looking a fright, they are very very sore. Sad

Thanks, I've not heard of carmex. Mine are very dry and they look disgusting tbh. Not only have I managed to put on about 4 pounds in the space of one week by stuffing myself with cheese and wine, but I've got scabby lips too!

I think it was worse because it was windy, tbh I didn't realise how strong the sun was.

Yes mine burnt.

I bought some Elizabeth Arden 8hr lip stuff at the airport on the way back and it helped tremendously.

Phew, I'm glad sunburned lips are normal then!

I totally forgot about aloe vera. My friend gave me a big leaf off her plant that is still in the fridge, and it's still in good nick. Genius! Thanks everlong. It's very soothing. Thanks I used some aloe vera juice on a nasty insect bite that had gone all scabby and nasty I had been scratching in my sleep and the aloe vera helped it heal ultra quickly. It's good shit! Grin

I didn't go anywhere exotic, just visiting my parents in the Mayenne region in France, but it is a damn sight hotter and sunnier over there than it is in the UK this summer.

HammerandTongs, The Elizabeth Arden 8hr lip stuff was probably just under my nose as I browsed the perfume shop on the ferry!

Yeah, France, especially rural France is fab. So laid back. Smile
