If so, will it suit me? I am 'larger laydee' and 5'5" tall

TIA

I guess it's nice though it seems very overpriced.

ThisTooShallPass · 30/08/2012 16:28

It's a lovely colour but the shape won't be at all flattering on the more voluptuous form. Sorry.

jetstar · 30/08/2012 16:31

What about this then?

It's alright but I don't think it will suit you either. The only people I have seen that look good in a poncho are tall and slim

jetstar · 30/08/2012 16:32

I agree its not cheap Sad

Was thinking it would be good as I am BF...

FuckityFuckFuck · 30/08/2012 16:32

I like the shirt tho :)

ThisTooShallPass · 30/08/2012 16:33

Nice print but again, it'll delete all shape from from your figure.

jetstar · 30/08/2012 16:34

What sort of cardigans / jumpers do fat people wear then?

Or as I have been recently thinking "Does ANYTHING actually look nice on fat people?"

OP posts:
ThisTooShallPass · 30/08/2012 16:35

Yes! Many, many things look good on fat people! Fitted better than baggy flowing though. Slightly longer length also good.

LolaAnn · 30/08/2012 16:35

No.. poncho's are bad news if you are not absolutely twig twig twig thin like.

ThisTooShallPass · 30/08/2012 16:36

What size of fat Jet? will have a rummage.

jetstar · 30/08/2012 16:41

Size 16/18 sadly and at 43 I am no spring chicken either!! Wink and as you can tell not so good at choosing things to wear!

I wish I'd stop clickeing on these but they make me mad. You are a person.

SirEdmundFrillary · 30/08/2012 16:51

As in fuck the sizing and aging. What the hell?

FunnysInLaJardin · 30/08/2012 16:57

I think the poncho will look fine but the shirt is too shapeless. I am similar dimensions and age to you and need some shape to my clothes otherwise I just look like a sack of potatoes. The poncho provided it's not too long would look good with some straight leg or boyfriend style jeans and some biker style ankle boots. But if it's too long it will swamp you and make you look bigger than you are. For me any top longer than mid thigh is no good.

jetstar · 30/08/2012 17:00

Yes I am a person Smile I am a person who feels like cack unattractive in her current clothes. Much as I would like to say f**k it, I do care what other people think of me and I think I need to find some style that looks good on me!

I'm larger than you and no, wouldn't go for a poncho. I have some really nice knitware though and find that the less chunky, more shaped stuff works really nicely.

Will see if I can spot something on line that looks good on my figure (inc mahoosive boobs) and will post.

SirEdmundFrillary · 30/08/2012 17:06

Jet.

mignonette · 30/08/2012 17:11

My favourite cardigan came from Seasalt. It's a gorgeous pure new wool unusual green marl shade and the quality is amazing. It's nine years old and still looks new so the brand is worth spending on. You do get what you pay for in this case.

RE Poncho's.....I have yet to see any Indigenous Peruvian women not wearing their poncho's because of height/weight factors. Maybe somebody ought to have a word with them Wink?

Viviennemary · 30/08/2012 17:14

The poncho is quite a nice colour but they're not very flattering unless on tall slim people. I don't like the other shirt type garment at all. It looks like a pyjama top. Quite flattering is a long top say four inches above knee and leggings and ankle boots. Wallis had some nice ones last year. Somebody I know looked much slimmer in that kind of outfit.

GobblersKnob · 30/08/2012 17:16

Seasalt stuff is beautifully made and lasts forever.

I think you should get it and try it on if you love it keep it if you don't, don't.

I think it's stunning, what colour were you thinking?

mignonette · 30/08/2012 17:26

My cardigan's similar to the 'Tova' in the new Seasalt collection.
