Hold your tummy in vests

Just reading the thread about jeans and someone mentioned a tummy control vest. Just wondering if anyone can recommend a good one. I'd like one that doesn't restrict my boobs but that also doesn't ride up. Ugh, am I going to have to resort to a body as worn back in the early '90s??

I was given a really expensive one as a sample and found my boobs nearly got cut in half trying to get it over my body and I looked like a sausage in its akin with lumpy bits. I was glad I hadn't paid £70 for it.

orangina · 30/08/2012 10:00

I bought one from m+s last year and it was all of the above (the bad bits) and worse. Deeply uncomfortable and really unattractive. Will watch this thread with interest.....!

I got a black one from Matalan earlier this year, £6, and it's bloody brilliant! It makes my tummy look less wobbly, my boobs look fabulous, and its never ridden up. Definitely recommend it.

Oh dear, was it a yummy tummy Mosman ? They are ridiculously expensive considering they are simply a vest.

scentednappyhag do they still have them? any chance of a link?

I bought 2 yummy tummy "yummy mummy" vests (like their normal vests but for bf) just after having DS. I couldn't get one of them on over my boobs so it was the biggest waste of money ever. I just about managed to manoeuvre myself into the other one and it worked really well in terms of flattening, but wasn't worth the 1/2 hour of wriggling to get into it. Not recommended!

Google kymaro vests . They allow for boobage. I have had a few for years and they are great for loose skin. Not so much for fat if that makes sense . I say this as I have had 2 pregnancies and have put on 4-5 stone both times . I'm size 8-10 again but a big squidgier ( not surprisingly ) .. Also Primark do a basic control vest .

toastandmarmiterocks · 30/08/2012 13:11

Oo bishboschone you've got it spot on. I just seem to have an awful lot of skin (and a bit of fat too!). I'm hoping it will encourage me to hold my tummy in so hopefully encourage my stomach muscles to work again...

Funnily enough I have great abs despite having one c section . I jut have crepy skin that is squishy . It can overspill with tight tops so I use these vests for a smoother line. I sound preeettyyy don't I Wink

Gorgeous!! My tummy looks like an old lady's puckered mouth after she takes out her dentures!

Beautiful Smile

I swear by the M&S ones, that orangina doesn't rate. They are pretty tight, but not uncomfortably so and the trick is to step into the vest, rather than try and get it over your head. I went for a size bigger to fit my boobs in Wink and to stop it from riding up I tuck it into my knickers which does look as minging as it sounds, but you can't tell with clothes over haha!

Primark also do them for about a fiver, but they don't have as much control as the M&S ones.

lowercase · 30/08/2012 15:56

i didnt like the M&S either.

sized up and it was still tiny and uncomfortable with thin weak straps.

also had flexees. better than M&S but still not worth buying.

interested to hear about matalan, i had some of their shorts style undies, very flattering cut (poor fabric though)

toastandmarmiterocks · 30/08/2012 16:19

I've ordered the Matalan one. By mistake I put some boots in my basket too. Grin

Yes it was the yummy tummy one, I had such high hopes for it. There's no way I could step into it if it won't go over my boobs there's no way it would go over my arse.

ettiketti · 30/08/2012 16:42

I've got a few from primark and a Tesco one. They do the job pretty well for what I paid (less than£10)

cardoon · 30/08/2012 17:33

I get my Primark and my M&S one muddled up (have to look at the label) they are so ....both good Smile

cardoon · 30/08/2012 17:35

Both so "similar" was missing Blush

yawnalot · 30/08/2012 22:16

Primark or M&S are the best ones.... I love them ;)
