Good handbags for £30ish?

Help! DP has agreed to buy me a new bag, but I just can't find what I want... Can anyone recommend somewhere that sells decent handbags for £30-£40? I've had a look in all the normal online shops and I can't see anything particularly exciting.

It will be for work, so I need something that can take a pile of junk book, make-up, umbrella etc. I fancy something that has a little bit of character - tweed, a bright colour, just something a bit more interesting than a normal brown leather handbag...

I got a nice one from Oasis a couple of months back.

Accessorise have some nice ones.

TKmaxx is worth a look, as is River Island. Asos is usually good for bags too.

I am on the lok out for a new bag. I have seen some tweed and tartan ones, I think in either Accsessorize or Next, but I have looked at so many I can't remember!

I live TK Maxx for bags. They have a good range on the website but it's always worth having a rummage in the shop if you're near one.

RedBlanket · 29/08/2012 20:52

*love, sadly I don't live in TK Maxx.

busyboysmum · 29/08/2012 20:53

This any good?

River Island Bag

Not sure what sort of style you are after?

mamalovebird · 29/08/2012 20:53

Next are good for reasonably priced bags. TK Maxx also.

I got a great bag in a charity shop for £5 - worth a look

scottishmummy · 29/08/2012 20:58

I like the colour of the River Island bag, busy, but I'm not sure that will fit all my junk! But - ooooh, I had no idea TK Maxx was online, that's sadly very exciting!

UnrequitedSkink · 29/08/2012 21:12

TK Maxx is ace. And you do you get more for your money, i.e. this

Springhasarrived · 29/08/2012 21:12

T K Maxx is always my first stop for a bag too. I got an Osprey one for £50. Its beautiful and get coveted by 20 to 70 year olds alike.

Off topic - TK Maxx website is brilliant for ski gear too.

TapselteerieO · 29/08/2012 21:12

Shopstyle is worth a look, you can choose style, colour, price etc.

TapselteerieO · 29/08/2012 21:16

NellyBluth · 29/08/2012 21:24

Green Ollie & Nic.

NellyBluth · 29/08/2012 21:35

Thanks to tapsels reminder of Shopstyle, so far this from Topshop is winning at the moment.

Though I might not forgive her for linking to that amazing Ollie & Nic green bag which is out of stock...!

Ooh love that Top Shop bag.
I too was stupidly excited discovering TK Maxx was online.

NellyBluth · 29/08/2012 21:50

DP has just irritated me by saying he's very surprised I haven't been baking more since being at home with the baby - multi-tasking, he pointed out smugly. I may just start looking at the Mulberry site...

If you're going for fake leather I would go for patent. Smile
