What do you wear to an evening reception?

Sorry if it's a bit of a stupid question but the (few) only weddings I've been to I've been an all day guest.

I'm due to go to an evening reception on Friday night. I have this dress which I wore to two christenings recently, is it too 'all day weddingy' IYSWIM? Or should I be going a bit more casual?

I think it is lovely. I take any opportunity to dress up as it doesn't happen very often!

That dress looks perfect. I've been to lots of evening dos and always wear either the same type of dress I would wear if I were invited to the day, or something a bit more cocktail partyish.

I think I'll wear it then, after all as dexter says, any opportunity to wear a nice frock!
