Does anyone know of a parka-style winter coat that is waterproof and really, really long? Like a North Face Arctic parka, but at least 6 inches longer. Longer parkas are often described as knee-length, but I'm tall and when I try them on they are more like mid-thigh - and what bugs me is I can't sit down on a wet bench or sledge etc because the coat fails to keep my bum dry. I've found plenty of super-long down-filled duvet-style coats, but they aren't waterproof and you're not supposed to get them wet!!! I live in Scotland and a coat you can't get wet is blardy stupid not an option. Or, there are gaberdine-style ones but they're super frumpy - I like the furry-hooded, longline parka look.
(I actually have a Merrell wakefield which I love and is very warm, but it's too short.)
I have seen this Canadian beauty but it's ridiculously expensive and apparently there are loads of dodgy fakes around, so that's out really - but it gives you an idea.
If you have found this holy grail please tell me!
