When do you put your summer clothes away?

Looking out on a grey rainy evening and wondering if it is too soon to get my winter clothes and boots out yet?
I know it is still August but feels like October here.

just wondering this myself, esp as I really feel the cold ..

I never got them out this year

I don't bother to have summer clothes as live in the constantly bloody pissing rain.

Am very fed up of it. Have wood burner on tho so least am warm.

They wenrt away this week, what few summer items I have...

I just have a wardrobe - all my clothes live in there all year round.

I just know I will put them away and we will get one of those miraculous Indian summers as soon as kids go back to school!!
Might just ease myself in with some Snuggly pjs.

I haven't got room to have all my clothes out all year round but last year I put my summer stuff away when the kids went back and it turned blisteringly hot so I'm keeping them out until about half term this year.

In reality about 75% of my wardrobe is all year round so it's only big jumpers, fleecy pyjamas, boots and my winter coat that come out and shorts, flip flops and sandals that go away.

I went to work in leggings and sandals today but came home to find vests, socks and slippers...freezing here too!

Where do you put your clothes when they go away? The only place I would have to put them is the loft and I think they would get damp and smelly up there.

Where do you keep them though, when you put them 'away'? Under bed storage or something?

We haven't had a summer yet... why have you got your summer clothes out?

I was hopeful that summer would arrive at some point!!

I put mine in storage bags under various beds and the top shelf of my wardrobe. I am trying to be good and eBay anything which I can't fit into anymore or don't like.

I'm still in mine this week. I can't imagine it will be for another couple of weeks yet. Most of it is layering anyway so will be worn regardless.

I went out today in jeans, boots, top, scarf and cardi. Was great

I am actually freezing cold at the moment! I hate being cold.

I never got them out - but today would be the day if I had. I noticed on Friday evening it felt like autumn..it felt like summer was gone. Same tonight.
Been out tonight wearing similar to springforward except swap her jeans for a pair of wool trousers..

I keep it all out all year, though I do make sure all winter stuff is drycleaned etc if necessary once it warms up. I tend to dress in layers, so much of my "winter wardrobe" is just more layers of summer stuff. And I don't have that much anyway.

Same here, all my clothes live in the wardrobe all year round, and I would wear the same tops but with cardis or jumpers as it gets colder, same with a skirt - bare lags if it is warm, or tights and boots if it isn't.

Most of my summer stuff is all year stuff, but have a few bits of hot summer clothing which have hung forlornly in my wardrobe unworn since April! I went through all my winter stuff last week just to see what I had (so I don't go crazy when the new season stuff comes into the shops). It was all very dark and depressing so will be going away for at least another month.
