The big Zara leather bag

Owners of the big Zara bag, do you get a sore arm? Is it just a pain to carry? And will it make me look skinny in comparison to the bag? Grin

I love the new wine coloured version , spent about an hour wandering round the shop with it looking in all the mirrors trying to work out if I love it. Didn't get it (v proud) but still v tempted...

Main reason for umming is tiny DS involving a buggy everywhere I currently go - wouldn't be able to carry it, but I don't want to only wear crossbody bags til DS is 3!

I'm not sure about practicality, but it is lovely!!

I have nearly purchased that bag so many times, but it just seems a pain to carry around. I have seen a couple of people with it in the street and it just looks a bit awkward.

It is nice though...

HoopDePoop · 25/08/2012 20:08

I think it would be a good work bag, could easily fit folders and paper, prob even a laptop or tablet in there. Or I can imagine taking it shopping and chucking new purchases in it. DS won't need pushing in buggy forever.

But yes, tis becoming very common. I don't know if it will be a bit passé soon - I'd want it to last at least two winters. I love the colour though Hmm

Love bags like that but just know they would do my head in.. If I had one it would need to have a shoulder strap..

trixymalixy · 26/08/2012 11:42

It has a shoulder strap, but doesn't look as good carrying it like that!!

HappyGirlNow · 26/08/2012 11:56

Ah, no point then..

DonaAna · 26/08/2012 12:25

Too common around here. Bucket bags are a pain to carry unless they have a long and wide shoulder strap (narrow will hurt).

Since having children I've switched to crossbody bags. Inside them I carry a black fabric supermarket bag.

monkeysmama · 26/08/2012 12:30

It's quite heavy even empty I think. My (style conscious) mum has one and it looks great. I'm very tempted by the studded animal print one. I saw the wine one yesterday and thought it looked beautiful.

lurkingaround · 26/08/2012 12:35

Agree with everyone, i like it but it's far too common, and you will be sick of it by Christmas. Also I always think it looks v awkward, the strap is a funny length and not comfortable to carry.

Like Dona I use cross body bags, 2 free hands, excellent. I'm hoping to win the lottery soon, and then I will buy this mortgage sized bag. So beautiful irl, and I rarely "fall" for a bag.

ifancyashandy · 26/08/2012 12:47

It's beautiful & the wine colour is gorgeous.

But it's just too popular now. I must see at least 4 a day on my travels. And Lauren TOWIE has one. That was enough to put me off.

HoopDePoop · 26/08/2012 13:12

Ah ok then, thanks all, I know you're right. Hopefully they'll use the same colour of leather to do a cross body bag this year. I have two M by MJ cross body bags (Natasha and Percy) and a leopard one from Topshop already, think I'm a bit bored with cross body although they are clearly the most practical option.

Anyone seen any wine coloured ones to drool over? Mini Gracie not in a wine colour Sad

trixymalixy · 26/08/2012 13:26

I'm tempted by this one. It comes in Red, but not wine unfortunately.

NotYouNaanBread · 26/08/2012 14:51

I have it in beige and while it looks divine, it's a bit of a nuisance. I rarely use it. If I have a meeting or something that I want to bring my laptop etc. to, or a conference, it's handy though.

rabbitonthemoon · 26/08/2012 15:03

I got the wine one last week. I've wondered about having one for a while but ummed and ahhed, then saw the wine one whilst shopping and had a weak moment. I've bought it because its huge and will fit all my work stuff in it, lunch, water, folders, iPad, keyboard etc etc. HOWEVER! On the day I bought it I piled it with my shopping and other bag and carried it round and that night my arm was killing me! Ha! it's going to be great for the office though. Happy purchase.

MrsSnow · 26/08/2012 19:27

I love Zara bags but also hate them, why don't they make them with zips? We don't all live in crime free havens.

HoopDePoop · 26/08/2012 21:40

MrsSnow the one I was going to get has a zippy fabric inner section for crime-ridden areas Smile

That small leather shopper is nice but I need Wine colour I think.

Damn my current SAHM status, could easily justify use it for a work bag.

I just saw this. It looks like an almost wine colour and a lot softer than the Zara one.

lurkingaround · 27/08/2012 10:07

That's a lovely bag monkeys! God I love Massimo.
