Straight jeans - what length with boots?

Okay, so I know this seems a weird question but I'm trying to decide whether to return straight jeans for a shorter length. What length do you wear yours with a heeled boot? With a dressier trouser and a heel, the trouser length always came well down the heel but the cut was such that one could do that. If I try that with straight legged jeans, it just looks silly and they wrinkle at the front hem. So do I just wear them so as they sit on the body of the boot, touching the top of the heel IYSWIM? Confused

thanks

long is good - you do not want ankle swingers! this shows the length i would aim for.

I follow Hilary Rose's view: Skinnies apart, the hem of the jean should just break across the front of your foot. If it crumples, they?re too long; if it doesn?t reach your foot, they?re too short.

For skinnies some people like that crumply look - I have short legs which don't need help to look shorter so not for me!

Thanks - shall try on again tomorrow.

Millie, I have exactly the same problem! What sort of heeled boot do you wear? So far I haven't managed to find any heels to go with straight legged jeans.

Cadbury ... I don't ... yet! Am trying to put the look together! Got a pair of straight jeans from Boden. Nice on. Longer length - its too long but suspect regular will be too short. Ordered boots these from Clarks. Not sure about the boots although I do want an ankle boot - the 'v' bit at the front is very deep so with skinny jeans socks would be on show Hmm. So to get the jeans long enough on the heel, they're wrinkled at the front of my foot. Have you seen anything you think might work?

Certainly nothing I own which are either heeled brogues or stiletto heels. I usually wear converse with my straight legs but the other day bought the straight leg trouser jean from gap which I'd love to wear with heels. I'd been thinking of buying some boots like you linked to so let me know how you get on!
