False Tan

I am due to go to a posh do next weekend.

I have a lovely dark blue dress, but I think I look too pale to wear it. I'm very, very fair, with not the bluish skin that goes with redheads, but it's very close to it.

I can't get another one, so I wondered about any false tan that would just take the whiteness away. I obviously would look wrong with a proper tan, but I do need something.

Anyone any ideas?

How much skin is on show? if just arms and legs, then St Tropez Everyday is nice. Best I've used.

Almostfifty · 24/08/2012 22:12

I'll be showing all my arms, shoulders (spaghetti straps) and neckline. A pal of mine reckoned St Tropez would be too dark, but I've no idea, as I don't normally bother with false tan. Is there a lightish version?

You can get most fake tans in light, medium or dark.

I use the body version of this one www.google.co.uk/search?q=ambrie+solait+fake+tan+spray&hl=en&client=safari&tbo=d&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=N_c3UK2PBaqg0QWfxIHwBw&ved=0CAkQ_AUoAQ&biw=768&bih=928#biv=i|1;d|5e1yS3hQMg_c-M:
I lightly spray it on with no rubbing in and it just gives me a light colour

I've been using the light to medium version. Found that 2 applications a couple of days apart gave me the slight colour I wanted.
Be warned you need to exfoliate rough areas- knees, ankles, albows, and smooth very carefully to avoid streaky patches.

Thank you ladies! I will have a try. I have had streaky patches before, so will be careful. Is it best to exfoliate then put some body lotion on my elbows before, so it doesn't get too dark there?

Yes, or I wipe the tan lotion off really dry areas with damp cotton wool.
