Ankle/biker boot help

Hi,
I am new to S&B so be gentle with me! I am looking for some really great boots for Autumn Winter and (possibly unrealistically) looking for something that will tick a lot of boxes. I really need them to be comfy as I walk quite a way for the school run and am on my feet all day at work too. Ideally I'd like something that would be ok for both settings (am a teacher so can be slightly casual - leggings and dress is my usual option). They need to be reasonably weather proof too.

I like these as they go over my skinnyish jeans, jeggings, leggings but I can still wear with my denim skirt (or possibly cord skirt?). I think I prefer brown/grey for boots generally. These boots don't actually fit that well - my heel comes up at the back a bit when I walk. Irritatingly DH doesn't like them but that's not a deal breaker if I really love them and they are comfy. Can anyone suggest anything else, preferably that I can go and try in a shop rather than order online as fit is a real issue for me. TIA.

Can't bear to leave you hanging with no replies!! I don't think I'm much use really but I am drooling over these . They come in black too if you prefer. I have absolutely no need for them and no money BUT I WANT THEM!!

MsArseBiscuit · 24/08/2012 21:34

Hello Fruitpastille - disclaimer - I am emphatically NOT one of the S&B ankle boot experts, I think they look as though they'd fit your criteria pretty well, I'm hankering after a pair of Asos Aggies, have you looked at those ? Although they may be a bit impractical for your needs.

( I'm sure someone better than me will be along soon )

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 24/08/2012 21:39

Don't like the M&S ones at all, sorry. I also don't think that they are leather, so I doubt they'd be much good in the rain and will probably split/get stinky. Love the Hudson ones but don't think suede is much use for boots.

Try Dune - or maybe Topshop.

fruitpastille · 24/08/2012 21:42

Thank you - think the Hudson ones are a bit too short (and a bit over budget tbh). My everyday jeans are quite skinny on the leg but actually straight cut so ideally want to be able to tuck them in. Also would prefer slightly more coverage so I can wear with a skirt. My legs are not my best feature so best to hide them at least a little. I broke my ankle a few years ago and it is a bit lumpy looking due to surgery. I am a nightmare choosing things like boots as I don't want to get it wrong!

Never thought i'd say this on here, but Clarks shoes are doing some fabby boots, can't do a link sorry technoidiot here Blush

forcookssake · 24/08/2012 21:51

How about these ones? comfy buckley slouchy boots

They are made by Dr.Marten and are incredibly comfy, it's as though you're wearing slippers! They come in several colours, look ace with skirts or jean or even floaty dresses if you're so inclined.

fruitpastille · 24/08/2012 22:02

Not sure about the Dr Martens - bit low? DH loathes - I am not asking his opinion any more! I thinkn I just need to go to Leeds so I can check out schuh, jones, clarks I will let you know...

www.clarks.co.uk/p/20352292 not sure if this link will work, but I love these!

fruitpastille · 24/08/2012 23:17

Quite like style of those but would ruin them in rain! Your link worked Smile

What size are you?

ClaraDeLaNoche · 24/08/2012 23:46

Fruit I think they're a wee bit shiny and toe is too pointy uppy. But do not fret there are loads out there.

DonaAna · 25/08/2012 06:07

I love my Sixtyseven Elin boots.

QueenCadbury · 25/08/2012 06:29

I was going to get those clarks Majorcan boots in grey but they're really wide and baggy at the top so looked utterly ridiculous on me. There's quite a few other nice styles though and a 20% off code floating around somewhere I've heard.

Dolallytats · 25/08/2012 07:25

Next usually do lovely leather boots in the style you are looking at and their prices aren't too bad. Sorry-don't know how to do links!!

fruitpastille · 25/08/2012 07:38

Thanks all, am size 5 or 6 depending on make. Someone has suggested reiker too and i was wondering about fly? I can go for whole day shopping next week so hope for success then.

PlumSykes · 25/08/2012 07:55

Oh, those Hudson ones, toast. Heaven.

OP, I think it's tricky to find boots that work with jeans AND skirts, as you require diff things from them. If you wear jeans most of the time, find the boots that work with those, they worry about skirts another day.
