natty suits for a larger man

my other half needs a suit that is a bit different to the plain ones he wears to work (a check perhaps or brighter colour than the usual navy/black), he's a 48 inch chest and we have no time for a made to measure. Shopping in London tomorrow, probably oxford st area - lots of the shops only go up to 44 inch, some have 46 inch but none seem to have 48 inch or if they do they're very plain.

help please!

There's a store called High and Mighty that I've no experience of as a customer but I know they do larger sizes both width and/or height wise! Have had a quick look on the website and most of the suits do look pretty plain, but you never know there may be something interesting in store. It says that there's one on Oxford St.

My DH is on the very tall rugby player size and shops mostly in High & Mighty. M&S also do a big and tall range but only online. Good luck.
Oh, Maybe try Moss Bros, sure they do bigger suits for sale.

Austin Reed go up to 50" - try their reg st store. Although may still be a bit on the darker side for what you want. Either that or try a sports jacket and trs? But they do those too.

for anyone else who might have the same problem, we ended up going for a blazer and trouser combo instead of a suit and got the blazer in Hacketts - is lovely and a great fit!
