Bad shaving rash on bikini line. Help?

SpottedGurnard · 21/08/2012 20:41

I have really thick, dark hair that grows back ridiculously quickly. I can shave one day and have long stubble by the next.

The shaving rash around my bikini line has been getting progressively worse and now it's got to the point where it appears 20 mins after shaving. Big, angry red spots. It looks horrible and has really stopped me from swimming at all as it is so bloody obvious.

I always use a new razor and shaving gel so have no idea what to do next. I have just left my job too so don't have cash to throw around for waxing.

Any tips would be appreciated!

Get Some Aloe Vera Gel And Put It On The Area Straight After Shaving (I Buy Mine In The Pound Shop Lol)

Using a ladies roll on deodorant straight after shaving works really well, it sounds nuts but it is designed to be used on freshly shaven skin. Mens roll on OTHO stings like fuck and irritates everything.

Buy some wax strips and do it yourself. The Veet ones and Boots own cheap ones are great. It takes a bit if practise but if you use them properly they do the job just as well as a salon.

Gently exfoliate the area each time you shower, then rub in loads of moisturiser after shaving.

Coconut oil.

I second the deodorant trick - works a treat!

I normally have a salon wax and use a tea tree based cream for about a week after waxing. Cooling, soothing, antiseptic and totally natural.

Put some aloe Vera gel or sudocrem on it and then leave it alone.

Very very sharp razor and proper expensive men's shaving gel, something like King of Shaves.
