Where to buy really nice soap?

Not the most riveting of questions, but I thought I might treat us by having some really nice soap (the liquid kind in dispensers). Boots didn't have anything I remotely liked the look of - what's good? The only thing I can think of is Molton Brown, but there must be others out there.

L'octaine(spelling?) always lovely!

MrsRogerSterling · 21/08/2012 08:07

TK Maxx always has lots of lovely ones to choose from.

I like the olive oil soaps either hard or liquid - they're really kind on your hands and don't dry them out like the majority of liquid soaps.

Lovewearingjeans · 21/08/2012 09:26

Waitrose have a nice selection.

hattymattie · 21/08/2012 16:09

I was going to say L'occitane as well - I love their verbena.

fishybits · 21/08/2012 16:15

The Sedbergh Soap Company for something a little different. Their lemongrass soap is amazing.

I second TK Maxx. Reduced from the usual ridiculous prices.

Yep TK Maxx is always worth a look .
I like proper bars of soap , and Bronnley lemon ( shape and scent ) are my all time favourite

Craft fairs and fetes etc have really beautiful soaps usually

I adore the raspberry and vanilla original source soap, it smells wonderful and is really kind to your skin.

Molton Brown always smells a bit odd to me, I can't find one that I like. I do like the Vebena one from L'Occitane too.

ImpatientOne · 21/08/2012 21:41

Sorry it's not original but my vote would also be L'Occitane Verbena

I usually just get the refills which they tend to hide away but the staff are always lovely and helpful when you ask!

FoxtrotFoxtrotSierra · 21/08/2012 21:43

Soapsmith soaps are wonderful. They smell gorgeous, last forever and don't dry your skin out. It's a fairly new brand and kicks most luxury soaps into touch imo.

flibbertigibbert · 21/08/2012 21:44

L'Occitane do a lovely shea butter soap, and an almond one that smells of marzipan.

Molton Brown soaps are too drying IMO

JellicleCat · 21/08/2012 22:56

Another vote for L'Occitane. haven't found one I really disliked and the refills are good.

HiHowAreYou · 21/08/2012 23:05

I was coming to say tkmaxx too!

Downandoutnumbered · 22/08/2012 18:21

I had totally forgotten about L'Occitane, and TK Maxx is a good tip too! Thanks.
